Really liked it. I felt comfortable and the food was obviously homemade and was great

Good service, coffee, and lunch menu. Worth a visit. However, on a return visit the coffee wasn't to my liking. I suspect they have changed the beans, and to my taste, was below average.

Wholesome but modern cafe right on the square with lovely people serving superb food. Great selection of teas and cakes! We had a scone and apple cake 👌🏻 lovely quaint English village to potter around in after and see the Dartmoor ponies.

It’s very much worth taking a little diversion to visit The Birdcage in Chagford. A short drive off the A30 I have now been there a few times and it never disappoints. Great tea and coffee plus large selection of homemade cakes 🍰 and lunches. Try the carrot cake with a cappuccino - delicious.

Booked birdcage for tea with family today. Amazing food and service.. Lovely lady serving us worked non stop. We had a mixture of all day breakfast, beautiful filled rolls served with salad and coleslaw and warm home made scones with jam and cream. Could not fault a thing. Amazing place to eat with exceptional service. Well done to all.

Lovely quaint place that fitted in well with Chagford, a real asset. After many shares from a relative that visits regularly, we decided to pop by on our day out on the moors. They provide the perfect option to takeaway, doing a ‘picnic deal’ (for ~£10) of a wide choice of generously filled baguette, amazing selection of freshly baked cakes that the gentleman kindly explained (you could tell the great amount of passion they have for their business just from this alone) all of them, a packet of crisps and a drink. A foodies dream!! 💭 Cannot recommend highly enough. 💫

Oh my goodness. My partner and I stopped here after our walk, and had a delicious breakfast and then a slice of their carrot cake. It was made by one of the owners, and was the most amazing cake I’ve ever tasted! I went inside and asked who had made it, as I wanted them to live with me. It was spectacular!! And the two gentleman who own the place are sooo friendly, welcoming and easy going ☺️ Immediately loved them both! Also, the cake was Vegan. Not that it matters, but you wouldn’t have known! It was incredible. Thank you to you both for being so lovely and for allowing us to have a piece of your beautiful cake. Now, I mean it when I say please live with me ☺️

I'd never been there before, but the Mrs. had seen it recommended on the web. As it happens it turns out the owners are customers of mine, which could be embarrassing if it wasn't any good.Well no worries there as the food was top notch, well presented and not expensive. I had a homemade ham, potato and onion pie with a light pastry and Debs had a pea, potato and asparagus frittata. Both were served with a lovely coleslaw salad.Cheesecake was mentioned, so rude not to try and it didn't disappoint. It may be 30 miles from where we live, but we will be be back.

What a totally outstanding place, for sure probably the best scones I have ever tasted. Great service, excellent food, and most surprisingly the price was very competitive. The place is very popular so don't be suprised to wait to be seated. Highly recommended. Dog friendly as well ☺. Incase anyone was intrested the owner said he got the cute milk bottles on amazon.Menu 5/5Service 5/5Value 5/5Cleanliness 5/5Would i go back? Yes
