Has a lovely Christmas lunch here today. The atmosphere was very relaxed and cozy. The staff were amazing as usual and the food was spot on. 4 courses for £90 plus coffee and mince pies was well worth it.

Went in for afternoon tea after a special service in church. The staff were lovely and the scones were fab. Thank you. Highly recommend to anyone. Even had a gluten free tea without any problems!

Stayed there for one night with a dog, service was very good, dinner was nice, breakfast was very good. Would stay again if I came back through.

Lovely clean hotel with a nice ambience. The food we had was superb - all local produce and cooked to perfection. Not too expensive either. Definitely recommend...

Good pub for food. Has small courtyard at back for eating in fresh air. Food served in the bar and separate restaurant as well. Lite bites and main menu, the ham eggs and chips are great, thick slices of local made ham and plenty of it. Fish and chips also very good. Will be visiting again soon.

My food was lukewarm, and wife's steak was on the tough side. A replacement meal was offered, but I was hungry. Staff very nice

11 of us on our holiday in Devon booked for Sunday lunch . We were given a room to ourselves and looked after so well. The meals were delicious, lots of different choices but each one superb . Portions were generous with lots of interesting vegetables served separately. Puddings delicious too . I think it was the best Sunday lunch I’ve ever had ,maybe even better than my mother in laws !!!!Thanks to the team Helen in Bristol

**** EDITED AS A RESPONSE TO REPLY: seeing as there is no way to reply to a comment on this review from the WH I’m posting here. No refund was “offered”, my husband actually refused to pay for the meal, twice, and the management “accepted”.I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel it is necessary after an absolutely horrendous experience here. If you do not have a food allergy, I’m sure it’s a fine place to eat... but DO NOT eat here if you do. I have a pretty severe sensitivity to gluten and I made the staff aware when I booked AND when I arrived that I was gluten free. I asked for a gluten free bun with my burger and when it came I was suspicious about it. I asked the waiter to check with the kitchen that it was gluten free, I was assured it was, only to find out after asking again when I was done that it wasn’t. They were mildly apologetic but really didn’t take it seriously or make any conciliatory gesture- we at least expected to have our bill waived. Instead the manager approached my husband, while I was in the bathroom being sick, to pay for his beer! To make it even worse it was our wedding anniversary. I was sick in bed for days after. It was very lucky I am not celiac aka in danger of a life threatening reaction. This is the kind of mistake you cannot make for that very reason and they didn’t seem to care much. Needless to say I will never come here again and felt it was appropriate to warn others.

From the moment we arrived the staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and the food was excellent. Our evening meal (l had goats cheese mousse and smoked salmon linguine) was top class

First class customer service, each and everyone of the staff go above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay, nothing is too much trouble! Frank and Rodney (fur babies) loved it too and lapped up all the attention. We'll definitely be back. Thanks Devine party
