"Open all day, every day the Eastgate Cafe and Brasserie is idyllically situated next to the River Tavy. There is a large outdoor terrace alongside the River which is a must during the summer. Inside, the restaurant is light, bright and modern but has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality, homemade food using the best local produce. The menu is extensive but does not compromise on quality. The full menu is offered all day, 7 days a week. There is also a daily specials blackboard to tempt you. We also have delicious home-made cakes and the cream teas are hard to resist!"

We chose this based on the Tripadvisor review and it really was a lovely visit. Staff were polite and efficient, the menu had a good range of options and the food was well prepared. Portion sizes were generous and the environment was clean and pleasant with the option of an outside river terrace, although probably not on a February morning! Prices were as expected and we didn't get to try the cakes as the breakfast was so filling! Easy to find just off the main street.

Being vegetarian and non alcoholic people, we loved the fact they adjusted the fish and chips meal for us to make the batter non alcoholic which was great! Great service and tasted wonderful!!

Lovely Cafe next to the river in Tavistock. Great food - meals, or just a snack. Reasonable prices. Outdoor seating too, if you want to sit by the river.

Absolutely delicious and very well presented food, good value for money too. We ate in the courtyard which was beautiful. The service was excellent, we were well looked after by Emily who happily accommodated the childrens' requests and we received our food quickly. I can highly recommend the cream tea!

Went here as a family on Friday with the two dogs and sat outside by the river. Fantastic service, the meals we ordered were all cooked to perfection, lovely setting. We will definitely be returning. My daughter booked the table and it was a good job she did as it was full.

Scrumptious!Good food made with love!Started with an indulgent hot chocolate and a generous deep flavoured slice of carrot cake. Had the full breakfast which was as good as if i had cooked it myself..Sublime!
