What a gem! The best welcome and the friendliest service I’ve had anywhere in a long long time. The decor was lovely, the atmosphere great and the food tasty, fresh and clearly all homemade and very reasonably priced. This is going to be a regular spot for me.

We stopped in the Mary Tavy twice over our wet and windy walking weekend. The staff and locals were so friendly we've decided to make it our local whenever we visit Dartmoor! There was a miscommunication about my two dogs and they rearranged the bar to make room for us, a couple of locals even giving up their seats. The next day wehad the best seats in the house, right next to the fire and we were all spoilt rotten. Great food, great atmosphere. A winner! Thanks so much

Absolutely fantastic pub and restaurant. Really nice home cooked food and great choice of drinks. Staff are so welcoming and the owners are fantastic. Visited on several occasions while staying in the area. If you are trying to decide between Peter or Mary....Mary wins hands down. Highly recommended!

EXCELLENT PUB & DINING. We tried this pub on 30th Dec 2021 for dinner. VERY NICE. The staff was great & the venison with red wine jus was great. The weather wasn't great, but will surely visit in summer.

Fantastic service. Lovely place. Great steak. Shame U can't walk to it on the main road in safety. Cars are going too fast. Good access on the road going past the Mary Tavy school. Well worth a visit.

Lovely food in relaxing surroundings in the bar. Roaring fire going, and a nice selection of drinks.Only negative was that we ordered fishcakes but a few mins later were told they were out, so we were offered what the waiter called "prawn skewers" as a special replacement. To me sounded like some kind of grilled prawns on skewers, but what actually came was a cold lump of your average defrosted prawns in a pile on a small plate covered in Marie rose sauce: no skewer in sight! I would have addressed this with the waiter but I was never once asked if everything was ok with the meal, and didn't want to make a scene as my wife hates confrontation and it was a our last night on our holiday. I don't mind a prawn cocktail, but I think that charging £8.95 for "special" mound of cold prawns is a little cheeky.

Upon arrival was greeted in a lovely friendly manner. The pub although modern and recently refurbished, had managed to maintain a lovely traditional pub feel to it that many pubs have lost. People were sitting around having a quiet casual drink with friends whilst not in a restaurant setting. It was very welcoming. The room was clean, cosy and modern. Everything you needed was there, which set us up for a comfortable stay. The pub serves food in their in site restaurant for those who want a more formal feel to their evening. The was perfectly cooked just how I wanted, and there was a great selection from the menu so there was something for everyone.Breakfast again was faultless and had a selection of cereals and yogurts as well as a perfectly cooked breakfast.I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and can honestly say that I found no faults.Thank you

We have a lovely overnight stay at the Mary Tavy Inn. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was perfect and had an amazing view of the Moor. It was idyllic being woken up by the cows mooing outside our bedroom window. We loved in. They made our two spaniels feel at home. The food was great and the landlord and lady warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Great pub with excellent, well kept, Dartmoor ales, good food and really friendly too. We were made very welcome as were the dogs. Warm and comfortable inside and a lovely outdoor seating and garden area with stunning views. Well worth a visit.

One of the best pubs I've been to in ages. Taken over by new owners in February 2021, they have put a lot in making this pub a success. The staff are awesome, the beer is exceptionally well kept, the food was good, the views are great. Thanks for a couple of great visits.
