The George Albert hosted our Wedding last weekend and we would just like to say thank you and to say how great it was from start to finish. The venue is great for all types of events with multiple function rooms with sliding walls for all occasions. Air conditioned function rooms all with stylish modern interior and two bars with plenty of free parking available. The rooms were modern, spacious and finished to a high standard. All of our guests were extremely happy. The food was of a very high standard and the ceremony was just perfect.Anyone considering getting married should definitely shortlist The George Albert! They went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect, nothing was too much trouble.

First impressions were a tired looking building, awful net curtains on the windows, overgrown and untidy garden boxes, the glass roof over outdoor reception area is dirty and needs a good clean. Those impressions alone would question why anyone would want a wedding there? Then walking into reception we enquired about having a coffee, something we had had in the past. We were bluntly told no coffee available, try the cafe next door. Hardly a warm welcome and quite disappointing. The GA could do with major updating. I get there's been a lot of changes regarding Covid but surely they should be encouraging customers in not putting them off!

Arrived at hotel and the place looked closed, entrance doors opened to let you into the foyer but could not get into the reception area, after bumping into another guest arriving in the car park he explained our keys where in an envelope near the lift, so hotel dining and reception area is closed but access to rooms is fine, rooms where very nice.

Very strange experience. The whole hotel was closed, didn’t see anyone else there. Normally the food is very good, but the restaurant was also closed.

Extremely clean, tidy decoration, staff a credit to the owners and food/portions very good.Bedroom exceptionally clean and comfortableStaff all very welcomingSpa session was great.Only suggestion would be to make a 'divider' between the bar and reception areaWould definitely stay here again

I've stayed at the hotel 3 times now and the two previous visits were great rooms were clean, service was great and the food was lovely. This time we arrived at 8.40 pm and asked straight away if we could get some food only to be told they were closed because it was nearly 9pm. We could only get room service which had a limited amount of hot food. We decided to go into the room and order room servic. We then had a problem with the room as the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, went back to reception and they gave us another room which was okay. We then decided to order room service which was going to be a sandwich and a portion of chips only to be told that they don't do hot food after 9pm!!! So just a sandwich it was then! The menu described the sandwich as fresh white bloomer bread which turned out to be a medium sliced white bread!! To add insult to injury the sandwich was £7.95 and a further £5 to deliver it to the room. I don't think I will be staying here again obviously cleaning and service standards have slipped in the past year.

I love this hotel, I'm usually a "purple-hued chain hotel" man only due to that I have their account card but this hotel right here beats most similar star rates and some higher rated hotels hands down. It's has a great team of staff with not a "can-do" attitude but a "will-do" one. Reception is always clean bright and welcoming the check-in staff are attentive happy and wecolming. Rooms are spacious well appointed and have great beds. The breakfast is usually where most hotels fall down, not here, not by a long shot. Try the sausages and black pudding ( I know the later isn't everyones cup of tea) they are AMAZING!. Locally sourced and full of flavour. I've never had a bad breakfast be it full English, and huge selection of continental on offer or the odd mad late dash because I've overslept and staff have made me a butty to go. Then there are the room rates, always great never inflated on particular days like other hotels. An absolute gem of a hotel and I for one am thoroughly chuffed I found this gem, serial repeat customer and proud of it.

Excellent service with very friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Stayed overnight after attending a wedding, room was very clean and the bed so comfortable we didn't want to get up, breakfast was brilliant. Would recommend as a wedding venue as this was the third we have been to at this Hotel, I think that speaks for itself.

Very good Hotel, staff happy to help. 3 accessible rooms, one with a bath with grab rails, two with roll in showers. Restaurants are accessible. Spar seems to have steps? Two disabled parking spaces, good main entrance with automatic doors. Good lift to the bedrooms.
