Half Moon Inn in West Dorset

Just got back to our campsite from walking back from the Half Moon pub. Lovely welcome, our doggies got 'home made doggy treats on a silver dish!! Our server Grace was friendly and helpful. The food, beer & wine 10/10!!! Lovely pub and relaxed atmosphere. We will return. Thank you.

We had a really excellent Sunday lunch here today. I had the cranberry nut roast which was delicious and a decent portion size. There were two other vegetarian options and they can accommodate vegans. Excellent veggie gravy and absolutely loads of veg on the side. It was a challenge to finish it all! There are around six meat options and my husband loved his which includes three meats and trimmings. Nice beers. Good service. Big marquee in the garden which is covered but has two open ends. Highly recommended, especially for vegetarians! I notice that they also do takeaway Sunday lunch.We walked from the local caravan and motorhome club campsite and the pub owner has left signposts all the way from the site to the pub. Brilliant. It took around 50 mins but it was quite overgrown in places and you need sturdy shoes.

Good food and friendly service. There was a good choice of local beers and gins.

Pub food done well, with friendly and helpful manager providing attentive service. On a busy road, but with a garden out the back. Quite busy early on a Tuesday so may be worth booking.

WOW, WOW WOW, Booked a table on Saturday had a lovely meal, booked again next day for Sunday lunch. Best Sunday roast we’ve had, absolutely gorgeous, food was hot, tasty and there’s plenty of it, the service was fabulous, very dog friendly, a lovely atmosphere, I promise you won’t be disappointed , Definitely worth going & best to book in advance 👍

Booked a late lunch at the half moon on a Sunday. Arrived slightly late from our walk but no fuss was made and were give a nice table by the log fire. The service was prompt, friendly and efficient with a great team well trained. The food selection was delicious in good size portions. We had various mains from the Sunday menu which has a large selection of meat based dishes. There was also plenty of vegetarian options and plenty of gluten free alternatives and well thought through. The pub showed a menu also with interesting venison and game menu. Would recommend or go there again.

Beautiful set pub garden, friendly and welcoming staff, great selection of beers, tasty choice of freshly cooked classic pub grub plus a few surprises (popcorn cockles are delicious!)... The 12oz stakes came perfectly cooked and the kids demolished them!! (I'd have taken pics of my dirty pig burger, but was too busy eating it!!)

Went there on the 20th August, last evening of our holiday and wish we found The Half Moon sooner. Great place, really friendly and welcoming. Staff were great and couldn’t of been more helpful and friendly. Food was fantastic even the kids loved it all.

If there is one thing you should do before you keel over is go to The Half Moon and try their food. They have amazing customer service from the get go, great COVID regulations, ths canopee was such a lovely atmosphere with beautiful lights and fire heaters. Wildflowers and brilliant music. Such a lovely atmosphere all round and the food was to die for. It was absolutely delicious and we are definitely going back. Hopefully every year! Thank you for an amazing experience and unforgettable anniversary <3

Really lovely, friendly staff, made to feel very welcome, particularly our dog! Relaxed atmosphere. Food is excellent; popcorn cockles were very moreish! Large garden, with a choice of covered or uncovered tables.
