Hare & Hounds Pub in West Dorset

April 2021: Great views from their large garden.Well kept Palmers bitter.I had sausage, mash and onion gravy which was all very tasty.March 2022: I had a very tender and tasty rump steak this evening along with a couple of pints of Palmer's Copper. Bob is a friendly and affable host and my evening was most enjoyable.I'd just like to point out that, when my meal arrived, there were three onion rings, more chips and the steak didn't have a slice missing 😄

Lovely local Pub, had a very enjoyable couple of hours here on a quiet but thoroughly entertaining Monday evening after a hour long dog walk. Landlords Bob & Jenny couldn’t have been more welcoming, will be back!

We were staying in the next village for the weekend and were recommended the pub by the cottage owners. We went for dinner on the Friday night and were made very welcome by all the locals who were very friendly. A good menu with lots of choice, our dinner which was very tasty! We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night and enjoyed getting to know Bob. Great pub, good food, lovely people and dog friendly too!

We had an excellent Sunday lunch (beef, lamb) at the Hare & Hounds followed by cheese & biscuits together with a nice pint of Palmers bitter and glass of Shiraz - traditional country pub, great pub food, good beer, lovely countryside and very friendly people. Perfect!

We had a truly lovely meal in the gardens which have stunning views. The food was fresh and full of flavour and the selection of beers and ciders were wonderful.The owner was friendly and welcoming as were the other staff. A real highlight of our weekend in Bridport.

Lovely friendly pub & great food

We've just got back to our holiday let after a lovely meal at the Hare and Hounds. Not only was the food great but Bob could not have been more welcoming. Highly recommend this if you are on a visit to the area.

It was perfect place to have lunch after our Cider tour & tasting. Beautiful view sitting outside. Simple homemade food. Nothing fancy. Perfect for lunch, but not so for dinner. Food 3 stars. But 4 stars for host and the beautiful views outside, while eating lunch! #dogfriendly

On a very hot & sunny day we halted our weekly walk here. Nice big garden area & attentive service even though rules relaxed. Didn't eat but menu had something for all. No hesitation having a return visit!
