This was everything we had wished for and well worth the journey. Fabulous location, lip-smackingly delicious food and cheerful service. We were even treated to some birthday truffles. The cockle popcorn, prawn burger and asparagus soup came route 1 from culinary heaven. Check out the counter seats too; best view in the house! This is what great British hospitality is all about. Bravo!!

An almost unbeatable location and the food was excellent. Service was also very good, with friendly, efficient staff. The only negative point was that one waiter's clothing was rather inappropriate.

Beautiful and delicious lunch today again, fantastic waitress Hebe, a thoroughly enjoyable visit - we will be back soon, Thank you

This has become our regular haunt on our trips down, lovely staff, great vibe and deliciously fresh food. But I need a recipe for that cockle popcorn!!!!

What can I say, great food, amazing view.We visited on the Friday evening of our stay in Lyme as it was our wedding anniversary and decided to push the boat out, but not outrageously so (something something good intentions). To go with our initial glass of Lyme Bay fizz, we had Cockle Popcorn, and a couple of fried Oysters. Now then.Cockle Popcorn. Go buy all of this, immediately. it is amazing.Oysters. Battered, fried, served with scotch bonnet mayo. These are also very very good, and the mayo has been made with care, not napalm, and is therefore just the right level of heat. For starters, my wife had baked scallops which had a salty, herby crumb on that I can still taste, and I had the shellfish soup which was also very very tasty. This is due to the method of manufacture which involves using all the spare shellfish parts the restaurant discards, to make a delicious and warming soup. This was a problem for me as I forgot to check if it involved Crab, to which I have either an intolerance or allergy... I wish I had because when we went back the following day, one of the staff looked absolutely mortified as I explained what had happened and gven the quality of the previous evening I did not wish to add stress to their day. I fortunately only had a rumbling tummy for an evening and it could have been far worse. Shame really, it was an amazing dish with a lovely flavour. For mains, the Lobster for both of us didn't disappoint either although ask for a claw-cracker when (not if) you try it. We didn't, and as a result I cut my thumb on my main course. Don't care, tasty Lobster and good chips.Desserts were fabulous and my son had a chocolate mousse about the size of a small cat.Is this the highest degree of fine-dining, deserving of multiple michelin stars? NoDoes it actually need to be? NoIs this an excellent restaurant overlooking Lyme Bay, with knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly staff, serving fantastic food? Absolutely yesWe liked it so much in fact, we went back the next day for a late afternoon drink and snack where I am very glad we were directed to the sticky Korean style Monkfish cheeks. Along with the Cockle Popcorn I could easily eat a bucket of those, unfortunately this would have made our subsequent round of mini-golf next door a challenge.Go here for a dining experience that is firmly on my "will absolutely do again and tell everyone to do the same" list.

What a thoroughly brilliant way to spend an afternoon. Sitting on a lovely open terrace with a great view of the bay, eating a selection of seafood treats, sipping a glass…or four…of chilled rosé and feeling very decadent! The cockle popcorn was a highlight and so was the oyster selection, both the raw and deep fried versions.

Great view, with a quality menu. Steak was perfect. Fish (gurnard) was a surprise package. Oysters - both styles were great.

We came for lunch service today and everything was fantastic. Front of house staff were lovely, friendly and really welcoming. Our waitress (think it was Hebe) was great. Service was really quick. Food is perfect, simple and just showcases the quality of the ingredients. We will definitely be back, maybe for dinner next time.

Slightly perturbed that our evening reservation was morphed into a late lunch due to staff shortages. Not withstanding that the food on offer was of good quality, the cockle popcorn was a great starter and talking point, (what else could get the tempura treatment we wondered), although maybe presented with a good dollop of aeoli to stop the little blighters flying off the table would work well! My smoked haddock was very tasty with a portion of fresh seasonal veg. One critical note would be the prices, great views over the harbour obviously come at a cost.
