Ilchester Arms in West Dorset

Good food much better than expected. Seems to be undergoing slow refurbishment

Only stopped in for a pint so can't comment on food but had good service and was a nice chilled atmosphere when we walked in. Bartender even topped my pint when he noticed it had some head. All in all a lovely experience

Very nice staff. Comfortable room. Well situated for the Dorset coast in a very pretty village. Lots of outside tables and plenty of parking on site

Very spacious inside with good service. The bagettes were superb and the Tim Taylor Landlord was the best beer we had whilst in Dorset but at £5 for 2 half pints was a bit of a rip off.We managed to park immediately outside on the road.

Came across this place today and so pleased we did. Delicious fish and chips followed by fruits of the forest cheesecake. Highly recommend this dog friendly place.

We stayed here for a long weekend and loved it, simple but clean and comfortable and dog friendly too, the food was extremely good and all the staff were chatty and helpful. Would definitely recommend

Wonderful, cosy pub, plenty to do for children, games etc. Dog friendly, and a brilliant welcoming open fire!!

Absolutely wonderful food, I had a meal , cooked to perfection, served by friendly staff. Excellent! But, alas, 3 stars only as the building itself was tired, in places broken, and very unpleasant decor. Whoever thinks it's a good idea to have plastic flowers, better off without any rather than plastic! Truly awful, rotten window frames, doors and trim, the whole place needs a revamp. I will return again as the food was excellent. Let's see if improvements are going to happen a year from now.
