What a lovely little cafe. Perfect view of the beach. Only problem is they struggle to serve food and they also struggle to handle customers complaining as a result of their lack of food. I sat and watched over an hour period today as customers moaned and left without their orders and paid for some of their orders and asked to leave the rest of the order. We didn't want much and sat down for our lunch. We heard the staff telling others there would be a long wait for food but we didn't get told this so we thought what we wanted as it didn't require cooking wouldn't take long. Forty five minutes later we left after paying for our drinks. We did feel sorry for the staff but they werent apologetic at all. I just got a rather rude comment of "we are extremely busy". I do feel sorry for Jane's cafe as they are in a prime position and it would be easy to turn this business around and make a success out of it. All they need is a bit better customer service and a much quicker kitchen.

Not vegetarian! We had to question how the food is cooked due to dietary requirements and allergies, the waiter admitted the pork sausages and scampi are cooked with vegetarian sausages. The waiter was extremely rude and rolled his eyes at my request to serve the beans from my breakfast in a separate bowl for my young child (standard practise in most other places)We walked out - deceptive and rude. Won’t be going back!

The chips are OK not the best I have had. The biggest issue here is the price for a large chips. For ÂŁ2.70 in Surrey you will get twice the amount you will get from Jane's takeaway. This cost was ÂŁ6.60. And that is for two large portion see pictures below. I would say find another place for your chips as they are way over priced. I am sure the locals don't even go here.My advice for you Jane Takeaway make that a regular size at ÂŁ2.50 people won't feel ripped off.

Great waiting staff, terrible kitchen. We stopped for what was supposed to be a quick coffee and breakfast but ended leaving hungry as the food never came. The waiting staff would go back to the kitchen only to be told that it will be "only few more minutes" after asking multiple times. 3 tables next to us had the same experience, 1 also walked out hungry. The location and the view is good and the waiting staff got is the drinks quickly and were polite and apologetic. Wouldn't come again though due to the poor overall experience.

Excellent location and food !We had an English breakfast which I couldn’t fault for value and quality especially the sausages !! The location is lovely overlooking the beach and all the young staff are very efficient. We had breakfast here twice on the weekend and will definitely be back next time we come to Lyme Regis.

Ordered a prawn sandwich and chips. Was presented with cheap white stale bread and extremely small prawns with little sauce.Meal deals sandwiches from Tesco are of a better quality. ÂŁ35 plus for a very unforgettable meal. Shame as locals suggested it was once a thriving place in a prime location. Need to drastically improve before I would consider returning.

We had a nice pitstop here, and really enjoyed the view and friendly service. Great location just a stones throw away from the beach and sea, and lots of bits an bobs around

I think this is the place certainly the right location. I had a breakfast here. Not great. 3 rashers in your nap but you had to ask for the exact number of ketchup sachets you wanted and the service was not always with a smile. Brilliant location though

lovely cafe overlooking the bay. not much seating inside, but plenty outside. food was lovely and the staff friendly, especially after a seagull swooped in and stole my daughters sandwich! a constant threat apparently, but don't let it put you off, it's in a great location.
