Longs Fish & Chips in West Dorset

The curry sauce was like water, no flavour at all. The chips tasted okay but was drenched in vinegar, so much that the chips actually went brown. Couldn’t even eat the chicken wrap it looked like it was still breathing.

Just visited West Street Longs shop... won't be going again. Ordered a lightly battered haddock and curry sauce. once home I tucked into the fish. The fish wasn't lightly battered at all I had to take all the batter off and unfortunately couldn't eat the fish in the end. never eaten a fish from a chippy before with so many bones in and most of all fish scales!! the curry sauce to top it off wasn't even in a sauce consistency, more of a lumpy jelly... awful

Ordered burger with ketchup onion and tomato and this is what i got they also missed ketchup it's a shame serving 2 bite burger for £3.50....

Lots of Gluten Free choices, all staff know what is gluten free and very helpful. Even knew that the vinegar is gf. Good portion size and lovely fish!

The queues out of the door are enough testament to the quality of the fish and chips at Longs. Not only are they tasty, but gluten free too.

A serious lack of customer service when ordering a holiday family treat lead to distinctively average fish and chips. More than one black chip in the bag accompanied by dry cod and a mushy lump of what I can only guess were the peas. Very poor indeed.....To save on future inappropriate screeches from the back room on the number of people allowed in the shop at any time, I would suggest putting up legible signs in the doorway to keep willing customers in the know. As for the black chips, I'm quite sure they wouldn't have been that colour when they went into the oil. If they were then please look to buy newer potatoes.

Ordered cod and chips. Fish was nice but the chips which should of been a medium chips seemed to be a very small and very soggy. Shame as the fish was nice. No photo, didn't want you to see the chips!

Ordered medium cod with small chips and large cod and chips by phone. Collected 15mins later from friendly staff. The food was piping hot and throughly delicious. Not greasy, good fish and chips. Will definitely return.

Great Fish and Chips and more. Breaded Place is outstanding and the other fish is also excellent. Chips are exactly as I like them but others say they could be crisper. Not my view. Fisherman's Platter is great for a change and the Restaurant has a big range of other offerings too. Getting a bit pricey but Quality supports that.

Quick efficient service, delicious freshly cooked & most importantly hot fish & chips, reasonably priced, extremely tasty. Best I've had in a long time. Highly recommend.
