Monks Restaurant in West Dorset

Excellent restaurant situated right on the sea front. High quality food, nicely presented and good service. Went for an evening meal there and it was pretty busy by 7:30 so booking is recommended. Parking is available at one of the main car parks in Lyme Regis and then it's a relatively short walk to the restaurant.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The menu was a bit limited, but it made it feel more focused and fine tuned. The building is incredibly small, but the snugness was not uncomfortable to me. Very much worth a visit if you have the money for it.

Amazing local produce, very helpful staff and I would consider the restaurant to be quite up market yet still very family friendly. We had 'Toms seafood platter' which had a bit of everything, staff were very knowledgeable about the food and happy tailored to meal to us. We swapped out some of the oysters for other things which no one made a fuss about. And right on the sea front which was lovely

Wow and wow. We had half a lobster, salad and chips, which was exceptional. The kids had fish & chips and meatballs & pasta - also very good quality. The service was great and the view was the best! We’ll be back…probably tomorrow.

It's just very good, simply served quality food, great service, attentive but not on top of you all the time. Definately worth it. The place to eat good fish and an incredible sea front. Will be back soon

We had such a fantastic lunch , staff were so accommodating.We were served by Rob who was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of guidance on the wine , he was very personable , we also had a member of our group with dietary needs and they adapted 2 of the dishes to suit there need.Can’t wait to return

Where to begin??? Busy Sunday afternoon, awkward customers...( us) and the team were brilliant. Fast friendly service.Even though we had special dietary needs they accommodated us with panache.I don't think we had a single entre that we didn't modify. The chef is imaginative and very helpful.The menu isn't extensive but the food is fresh and beautifully presented.This hard working team is an example to the trade.Well done and thank you

Very good seafood restaurant, with vegetarian options also available. Clearly big on locally sourced produce. Quite upmarket, and booking definitely recommended, though we were able to get a spot without a reservation due to a party minute cancellation. Nice sea view as well.Particularly strikes me as a good option if you're looking for a more "fancy" restaurant for a date night, special occasion, etc. Note cheap, but one of those where you get what you pay for.

Gorgeous view, fantastic and friendly service. A treat to have such lovely food with a view away from the heaving summer crowds. Would recommend booking outside the busiest times, and getting a table with a view. The perfect holiday treat for the seafood lover looking for a luxe lunch.
