Amazing food! The next time we're in Sherborne we'll be straight back to the Newell Restaurant, it is a glorious gastronomic experience

Once again another outstanding meal tonight. Have eaten in all the restaurants Sherborne has to offer and Newells food is consistently the best. How much longer will this be the best kept secret in Sherborne.

Don't waste your time and money. With B&B owners are big part of whole experience and in this instance i can only give them 1 star.

We have stayed here four times now when visiting family in Sherborne. We think it's excellent, nice rooms and lovely food. Tracey, the host has a great sense of humour.

Comfortable, clean room with a pleasant bathroom. We received a lovely warm welcome from Tracy who was nothing but helpful. Breakfast was nice and filling for a long day out.

Delicious food and really lovely service here! A beautifully thought-out seasonal menu, and a great wine list, including a fantastic selection of wines by the half-bottle - perfect for a couple when one is the designated driver! Non-alcholic beer available too. Can't recommend highly enough! Thanks to Tracey for taking such good care of us!

Real foodies look no further. Forget the disappointing and generally overpriced competition in Sherborne serving barely acceptable food. I am French / English and hardly have I ever found more authentic French cuisine in the UK. Simple regional cuisine perfectly executed with the very best ingredients. Friendly knowledgeable people and service, real people not machines trained to be nice to guests. I can't recommend the place enough can you tell?

Without wanting to gush the food here is simply sublime. Perfectly executed classic dishes. Simple decor and great value. If you are a foodie you will love this place and tell your friends about such a 'find'.Quality of food is (without exaggeration) 1 star Michilen standard but without the popm, foams and starch table-cloths. We return every year and Tracy is a wonderful host. Paul in the kitchen is a world-class chief, cooking what he loves with happiness.Value is excellent, three of us had 3 (well 2.5) courses and a bottle of wine and came in at £135. This would have been easily double in London and would have struggled to taste as good.You will walk in and worry about the decor and think 'how can this be high-end', you will then eat your first mouth-full and all doubts will vanish.
