Friendly and efficient service. Lovely walled courtyard, downstairs seating area and tables upstairs too surrounded by art for sale. Jacket potato with salad was a delicious and welll presented lunch after a walk along the Frome. Don't expect limp lettuce and overripe tomatoes here: a lot of thought and care goes into their salads.

Visited today Monday 18th October and had the best ever bacon sandwich. The staff were delightful, friendly and very efficient. The whole experience was made better when learning all ingredients came from within the county if Dorset.

Very nice cafe. Well staffed and quick service dispute being busy. Opted for the jacket potato with coronation chicken and I wasn't disappointed. Very nice indeed. And not forgetting, they're dog friendly. Parking available in waitrose car park nearby

We came across this delightful cafe hidden down a little street. A warm welcome and dog friendly. Excellent service, friendly helpful staff, tasty food and great home made cakes on offer. Tried Dorset Apple Cake for the first time. Delicious! Highly recommend. It may look busy downstairs but more tables available upstairs.

Interesting menu with lovely courtyard garden. Our kids liked the option of having a half portion of adults sandwiches and baguettes. So they could have smoked salmon etc. Definitely a hit.

Found this little gem by chance and ducked in for a cuppa out of the rain. Really lovely setting inside with the open fire and pretty garden for outdoor seating. Had a delicious cup of tea and some toasted teacakes. Took some slices of cake for takeaway which were also extremely yummy! Every member of staff was super friendly and made us feel very welcome, including my cheeky 9 month old daughter. Would highly recommended a visit to this hiddenn gem if you're in Dorchester.

Potters cafe is easy to miss, tucked down a side street off the main drag, but it's a bit of a hidden gem. There is seating upstairs as well as a beautiful garden. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and prompt with serving.Their is a selection of regular lunch time options as well as cooked breakfasts and a ever changing specials board. The food is always excellent quality and large portions. I ordered the batters cod with chips and salad (see photo). The fish was good, fresh and the batter was wonderful, chips were pretty good too however could have done with a few seconds less in the frier.Prices are on the more expensive side however I think the food warrants it.Over all great place for lunch after working up and appetite shopping.
