Amazingly historic pub (14th century) great hosts and fabulous food , great value . If you like beer try the local Shave X its moreish. Will revisit !!

We have visited on five occasions now and feel we can give it an honest review. On every visit we have been made to feel like its a special occasion with a warm welcome from both Tom, Georgia and also the head chef! The pub boasts hearty food, a good selection of beers and a humble atmosphere! This coupled with fair prices will keep us coming back! 😁

A beautiful room in a 14th century Inn and a stunning location, made even better by the phenominal owners Tom and Georgia, as well as the chef who is a credit to the team! (Highly recommend the fish and chips + beef roast!) I am so glad we picked the Shave Cross Inn, and am already planning our return.

The pub serves very good food. Staff at the pub are very friendly and will take time to explain what's available on offer. The pub also operates a shuttle bus 🚌 if patrons want to be collected to and from their residence. They also offer a variety of activities for children. I will definitely visit this place again ☺ 😊

Absolutely amazing place. Would 100% recommend. The food is great but even more importantly, the owners and staff make the visit even more memorable. Thank you guys for the amazing night. We will definitely be returning and trying the "food challenge" 😉

We arrived for our booking not really knowing what to expect and we left a couple of hours later absolutely delighted with the food and service we’d received.We were welcomed and served by the very friendly owners. They prepared a meal that was not on the menu for my partner which received great feedback and were helpful and understanding when I spilled by beer (sorry!) and unnecessarily refilled my glass.The steak I ordered was soft, tasty and cooked to perfection.We’re just visiting the area but when we return, we’ll definitely be back.Thank you very much for a lovely evening.

Had a lovely meal last night. Fish pie and spicy chicken burger were both excellent, as was the beer. Tea by the pint tankard !!! Very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to returning.

Great Welcome, Great Pub, Great FoodAn absolute gem of a pub. Drawn here by other reviews on Tripadvisor and wanting somewhere a bit quieter than the pubs on the coast, we arrived for Sunday Lunch to be welcomed by Tom the Landlord who immediately said it was good to see us again, we suddenly realised with had bumped into him in Lyme Regis a few days earlier - what a great memory for faces!Choice of beef, pork or turkey roast, or a combination of two or all three meats, with vegetables and of course a Yorkshire Pudding all cooked to perfection and served piping hot.Make sure you are hungry, portions are very generous. My husband managed to find room for a waffle with caramel - don’t think he will need feeding for a week!Service by all was attentive, informative and friendly. We were made to feel very welcome and had a really enjoyable meal and would not hesitate to recommend this great pub to others.Recommend you book a table to avoid disappointment, there is an outside marquee set up in the garden to provide extra cover and seating.

Popped out with a few pals for a quiet few and met the most hospitable landlord who entertained, fed and watered us beyond our wildest dreams! An incredible pub ran by a beautiful family. Thanks Tom, Georgia, Gary and team for your hospitality.
