A lovely pub on the edge of Abbotsbury. We stopped for lunch one afternoon when we were staying in the local area.I had a Steak & Kidney pie which I can confirm was a proper pie, not a stew with a hat.The food was freshly cooked & really tasty. They have a good selection of drinks, are dog friendly & have a beer garden for those sunny afternoons/evenings

Just had the most wonderful delicious homemade cottage pie. Worth every penny. Friendly staff too. Will definitely come back! Wanted to try the homemade desserts but was too full!

Typical local village pub with nice decorations and atmosphere. Draft beer was great, but the food not so much. Fish n chips were from frozen...

Plenty of space, nice and clean eating areas however, was not impressed with the lunch we received. The Cod and chips were below standard the fish was not as stated and being overly greasly and warm , not at all appetizing. The staff were friendly but the pubs food supplier needs to be changed!Sadly would not return

Wonderful, proper British Pub. Not Americanized in anyway. Lovely atmosphere, menu, and bar. Definitely worth a visit. They do accomodations as well.

A very typical country pub on the outskirts of the lovely village of Abbotsbury. Always decent food cooked to order with a more traditional pub service and vibe. Also allow camper vans to stop overnight as long as you eat or drink in the pub. Some friendly locals here too and ideally placed for the walk down to the swannery (how bizarre!). Today we enjoyed roast beef, nicely cooked with a variety of vegetables. Then we had a cheeky bread and butter pudding with lashings of custard!! It's even nicer in the summertime out in the pub garden. Lastly, only a 2 minute walk from the old abandoned railway line that leads to the next village of Portisham with a nice pub and dairy farm shop. From here you can also walk up to Hardy's monument.

Lovely afternoon lunch for 8 of us. I really enjoyed my fresh dressed crab, and the family finished all their plates so they liked theirs too. Great service at the bar and were able to cater for one that had dietary requirements and allergies. Beer kept very well, good selection of drinks.

Lovely place to visit for some drinks and food. Nice little outside garden and some seating out front by the road. Dog friendly inside and out and lovely staff. Food came out in good time. I had the BBQ ribs with chips and salad. The ribs was delicious but the chips were average not the best chips I have had but ribs were a good size with plenty of meat. Would definitely come back again 😊
