Tangerine Cafe and Gallery in West Dorset

Been meaning to stop there for a while. Best action we took was to stop.Brilliant range of food and really friendly staff & I got my sausages with mash & gravy. I'm fed up only being offered chips.

An amazing cafe just off the picturesque Beaminster square! Superb homemade food, good sized portions, and delicious coffee. The hosts are lovely, and this is a must visit cafe if you are in the area!

Lovely cafe, I had the sweetcorn fritters and would highly recommend. Definitely have a read of their walks from the cafe, we did one and it was excellent. We will be back soon!!

Great food, value and service. Ideally situated for a break to or from the Dorset Coast

We stayed for one night and Sue and Chris were impeccable hosts who provided the most friendly welcome and a very comfortable couple of rooms with tea, coffee and a very tasty breakfast including a really delicious home made raspberry and blueberry compote. Thank you and we’ll definitely visit again!

We almost stumbled on this cafe, just off the main square in Beaminster and so glad that we did. We had delicious cakes and coffee in a lovely cosy room (there are 3 to choose from). Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Pretty garden at the rear - will be nice to sit in when the weather warms up! Highly recommended.

I found this beautiful place with a friend today, it’s absolutely wonderful, the food is great, the staff are so very pleasant can’t do enough for you, the food again is amazing , so clean friendly one beautiful garden . I highly recommend , we will certainly be going back . Thank you fir making us feel so welcome in your beautiful business was lovely not to be just a number 😀😀😀

This was a spur of the moment stop to break up a long journey home and we are so glad we did. The cafe itself has been beautifully designed with beautiful garden and interesting local artwork. The menu was fantastic and had specials that changed daily (I loved the bubble and squeak and poached egg) and it was so lovely to be able to see in the kitchen. It also had really good glueten free options. The owners were incredibly friendly and chatty and made us feel really welcome.

Try it!We saw a sign to the Gallery in the market square in Beaminster and I popped down the road for a look as the pub we had intended to visit had just stopped food service. I am so glad we did find the Tangerine Gallery & Cafe.The place is a maze of small individual rooms, so social distancing is no problem. My wife and I chose to eat in the lovely cottage garden. Again, there is a choice of places to sit - we chose the hexagonal summer house. The staff were very friendly and, just as it says on the menu, everything is prepared fresh. The raspberry milk shake was bursting with fresh raspberries. We both chose the pork stir fry (good value at £7.90) and everything tasted crisp and fresh.We liked it so much that we took two slices of their lovely Dorset Apple Cake and Marmalade Bread Pudding away with us.Being a gallery, there were paintings and craft works for sale as well. We chose a new mascot for our caravan.If you are in the area, I really recommend the Tangerine Cafe.

Visited the Tangerine Cafe yesterday for the first time on our way down to West Bay (a short hop). The cafe is a perfect haven of calm with a cosy coffee shop, light and quiet orangery and a beautiful tea garden. There are also books and art work for sale. The food is varied, original and very tasty. We each had something different and really enjoyed the coconut peanut butter French toast and lovely fresh strawberries, Greek salad, scrambled eggs, French toast and bacon. The coffee is very good indeed. Sue, Chris and the team were very welcoming and we will definitely be back soon.
