This place was chosen as a midway meeting place for a birthday celebration. The service was good. Food was delicious and so reasonably priced. Great variety of homemade pies, which most of us had, and good quality burger. Highly recommend!

The food for 2 of us was rubbish and the other 2 were only ok. We waited 1 hr 20 minutes for the food although we arrived before our booked time. One of the rubbish meals was liver and bacon, supposedly a favourite with customers. Reason it was bad was the kitchen was too hot to work in. Unbelievable!!! They knocked it off our bill. Would we go back? Not on your life!!!

I can't speak for all of the staff, but there was a bushy-haired blonde lady who was rather unfriendly indeed.I went in and politely explained that I worked for a wine company and asked to take a few pictures of the pub as part of my job reviewing wine stock. After a minute or two, this woman became very hostile, rudely telling me that I had taken too many photos, even though I had only taken 2 very quick pictures which she had no issue with.If nothing else, she has certainly dissuaded one potential customer from ever visiting again. It might be worth reminding this member of staff that manners and friendliness cost nothing. Very unimpressed...

A very pleasant pub in a wonderful location. The food was good but rather old fashioned.British from the 1980's before we really learned how to challenge all the tasty European eateries.Good lamb but vegetable over- boiled . The staff are very friendly very efficient, knowledgeable. They create a good atmosphere.Midweek restaurant... almost all the customers were well into their 70's or more. The surrounding villages and countryside... absolutely stunning.

We had an hour's wait for our food. But there were two large parties in that night. My chicken curry was very nice. The vegetables with two of the dishes was soggy and over cooked which was a shame. They seemed understaffed, but the waitesses worked very hard and as efficiently as they could.Might go back on a quieter night.

Great food and service, a very efficiently run place. The homemade pie was delicious and the desserts great too. The interior is very bland which is a shame considering that every thing else was really good.

We were visiting the area and we decided that the reviews and menu for The Carpenter's Arms meant it was worth a visit. We arrived to a warm welcome and despite the fact that they had a very busy restaurant inc. a large party in their function room, the staff were very polite and attentive. We had to wait for a bit for our Food to arrive, but that was hardly surprising considering the amount of people there. However it was well worth the wait! The quality of food was excellent and was very tasty.Highly recommended and will visit again if in the area!

Excellent place to eat and drink. The interior looks freshly decorated and there is a very nice outside area to sit and have a meal or drink. Food is very good and at average pub prices (cod, chips & peas at £12.50 and a really excellent range of ice cream sundaes at £5 each). Service was very good, especially as it was busy when we visited.
