Very disappointed after booking a table for 8pm on sat eve (we were only in Dorset on holiday for 2 nights so were really looking forward to a lovely pub meal out) on arrival we were told our table wouldnt be ready until 8.30pm... we were told when we booked that sat night was woodfired pizza night but that other things were available off the menu. All the staff were preoccupied outside Carving a hog roast...We got a drink and after being shown the menu, which only offered pizza anyway, we decided to leave.Unfortunately most places stop cooking at 8.30pm so we had a very stressful half hour or so trying to find somewhere that was open and would serve us!!Unfortunately we ended up in Dorchester, where we thought places would be open, only to have to go to eat in Pizza Express.... which I have to say was amazing. The lady who greeted us was lovely and we felt very welcome and looked after!Just very disappointed with our choice of Gaggle Of Geese! 😞

The best pork belly I have ever tasted, the crackling was amazing. My husband had the salmon which was delicious too. Outside looked interesting and welcoming, dogs loved it. Will definitely recommend and will return when next down here

Fantastic garden, goats and fun for the kids and such a lovely, welcoming, family feel. Food was delicious too. Highly recommend it.

Lovely pub in a beautiful location. Great food and choice of drinks. Excellent service. Good garden and dog friendly. Also has a camp site and things to entertain the children, including a double decker play bus.

We stayed here in a Shepperds hut, it was very comfortable and so unusual and fun for us and the kids. We would definitely come back in summer to stay in then again, it makes a change to stay somewhere unusual like that rather than just a standard hotel room. The kids loved the goats, the soft play, the games inside the pub and the freedom to go out and run around and adventure. One night we went to the pub, had some nice beer and ordered some food. The kids loved their food and we did too. It wasn’t gourmet food but was tasty and we ate it all up. And they made me the best frofiest Espresso Martini. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and it’s great we can also bring the dog.We can’t wait to come back!

Having recently moved to the village, we took a visiting friend out for supper at the Gaggle of Geese - and what a delight! A gorgeous pub, such welcoming staff, and our young server was super friendly, smiley and helpful, and we were made to feel extremely welcome. The food was delicious, perfect portions and cooked to perfection. I can’t recommend this pub and it’s food enough. We’ll certainly be bringing all our weekend guests over, and in the meantime, look forward to popping in again very soon. Thanks to all for a lovely evening 🙂

This pub is a hidden gem. Called in after a great dog walk for a pie and a pint. Really helpful and friendly staff. Ordered a BLT and Pork Belly, cooked by Simon. Both arrived promptly and both meals were decently proportioned, presented and tasted delicious. AND the dogs got treats as well. This is a pub we’ll be going back to. Great walks along the ridges, great pub, great food and dog treats

This is a great pub, with a warm welcome, good food and beer and an excellent campsite “out the back” where we spent three happy nights this year. Wonderful.
