Food doesn't live up to the decor. This place looks the business and on walking in I was expecting the food to be great, but it wasn't, it was pretty standard, mediocre pub grub. Unfortunately the the prices match the decor not the quality of the food. The kids menu was pretty good value but with no garden it's never going to be a great family venue.

Stopped off on our way to Poole for a quick bite to eat, very busy which is always a good sign. Was advised there would be a wait for the food. Wait less than advised and food was of a very high standard. Definitely be calling in again!

If you like your veg soggy over cooked and ruined then this is Not the place to have a Sunday carvery! Personally I thought it was great and I Will be going back for more 👍🍺🍽 went back for more but unfortunately the standard had dropped veg was overcooked and soggy, so down to 3 stars

Been twice now and both times were exceptional. The staff are welcoming and the food fresh and delicious. The menu caters for everyone. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide choice of vegetarian options. In fact I was impressed by the whole place due to its nice relaxed vibe to it which makes for a comfortable visit. They also have a much better choice of drinks than other country pubs we've visited aswell so we would definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Again work related visit, my customer really enjoys this pub, he feels liked , comfortable and not judged. This pub is a very good one to bring all family to, it's comfortable, staff are super friendly, always happy to help, understanding and welcoming of difference.Just remember it's a pub! People like to spend time here and get merry! And speak freely! But customers always seem friendly.Nice place to eat , with a good choice in menu! Even with special requirements, they will try their best to cater for all who eat there.Couldn't ask for more in a pub! And I don't do pubs!!

Really enjoyed our visit to this Inn. Oldie fash with lots of wood and old oak floorboards. Very nice selection of food served including lunchtime snacks. Pleasant and friendly staff who gave prompt service. Prices are reasonable and portions are good. We had the Beefburger and chips. Recommended.

We went on a Monday evening and was advised that as well as the standard menu there was a help yourself Indian buffet, which we decided to have, right from the start you could tell the food was freshly cooked. All the Curry's were delicious, and there were 4 different types. Excellent standard, with good service

We were a walking party of 14, started off at the Inn for a coffee before our walk, the staff were very accommodating and efficient, the biscotti was a nice touch too! 9 of us returned to the Inn after the walk to have a well earned Sunday lunch. We all plumped for the carvery and ate so much we could barely move! They had beef and gammon, of which we were all given generous portions, and a good selection of veg. The staff were cheerful and friendly and it is a good place to take dogs. We will certainly return again!

Very good food indeed. Perfect chips: crisp shell with a fluffy core. Substantial sandwich on very fresh bread. Kids meals attention to detail was a joy to see. Bar service was a *bit* slow despite very few lunchtime customers and some prompting that we wanted to get-on with our journey, but not so slow as to become a problem. Overall, excellent.

Booked a table for our anniversary because I'd read good things on here, and liked the look of their menu.Sat down, waited for service to bring us a menu. No menu came. Waiter seemed to be deliberately ignoring us.I went to the bar, asked the girl if we could have menus, she replied "It's carvery only because it's after six" and immediately walked off before I could question her further. Her tone suggested "carvery only" wasn't really a thing, but they were only doing it because perhaps they were short staffed or couldn't be bothered. She was a bit weird about it, and like I say, immediately walked off.Their website states that the full menu is available alongside their carvery, so this further backs up my suspicion that carvery-only service isn't really a thing usually. It's a shame. Their menu sounds good and their website talks as if they're quite proud of their food and service, but I won't ever go back again to try it. You have to question how proud they can really be of their menu, if they can't even be bothered to cook it when doing a carvery. It all feels a bit like a place that may have once upon a time started well, but is now becoming one of those places that's poorly run where staff have lost their enthusiasm and no one takes pride in anything. I doubt their menu lives up to its promise.
