We took our granddaughter as a treat as it was my birthday. The restaurant was lovely and the staff friendly. However, we had to wait for our main course to be served, seeing others who had come after us being served before us. My husband and granddaughter enjoyed their meals though the extras were very limited....chips, a green saladand green vegetables that weren't very appetising. I had the dover sole and it was awful! Tasted of cotton wool. Admittedly as I have a lactose intolerance, my fish was cooked in oil. It was bland and no flavour. And, what were the pink lumps on the edges of the fish? So off-putting! I really should have gone for the fish and chips! There was no flavour andfished fried in oil.

It was great to be back in the Boarding house cafe and restaurant at Burton Bradstock and a lovely meal, great staff. Nice to see all the original staff there still. Look forward to being back there again on Christmas eve day for lunch 🤶🎄

It makes a change to be pleasantly surprised by an establishment one has not visited before, disappointment more often being the norm.Midweek lunch was imaginative and excellent. Staff are nicely turned out, friendly and helpful. The rooms and toilets are spotless and the situation perched above the beach affords wonderful views. We will certainly be back.

Absolutely wonderful, unique place to stay. A very special atmosphere, with very helpful , friendly and welcoming staff. Decor eclectic, and tasteful. Bedrooms simply styled. No TV or coffee facilities in room.... so you are able to enjoy the peace and be waited on for all your needs. The menu is fresh and reflects it's seaside position, beautifully prepared and presented.

First of all don't be dishearten by the limited 3 stars. I have confidence this venue will take on board our feedback today to improve on the customer experience. We were a family of 4 adults with various culinary backgrounds. The vegetarian meal quality was worthy of full praise where as other areas seemed to have been lacking. The muscles, cooked in cider tasted imbalanced and the alcohol was stronger than other flavours, it also resulted in a very watery texture when a thicker more creamier texture would have been better. The sardines were cooked correctly, although they were not paired up well with the onion chutney and the sauce was not presented well with it.The cheese soufflé was average, but these are hard to get right fresh anyway. I would have personally loved this to have been paired with something contrasting, tangy or even some accompanying bread. The battered hake was good. It was great that there was a homemade mayonnaise although this really shod not be made with mustard and at least mentioning this to customers in case of allergies would have been advisory. The Monkfish was perfectly cooked and personal preference did not take to the apple sauce it was serves with. It was reminiscent of a pork roast apple sauce and didn't pair well.Overall after several not so great food experiences we decided not to enjoy dessert here. Especially when faced with very high prices. Honestly, for the cost, we expected better quality and thos felt comparable to food and half the cost.Nevertheless the service was excellent and listened to our feedback. We hope to try again in the future.

For your total relaxation and reliably good food every time you go with sea views to die for go further. Faultlessly run and hesitant to tell you how good 'cause I want it all to myself.

Lovely place with pleasant atmosphere and great service. Breathtaking view tables of the coast. Delicious quality food for the money so will definitely return for more experience 😉😍

Disappointing...I came here for lunch with my friend as a nice treat. I have to say that I feel that "fine dining" nowadays means "expensive food" - first and foremost. The menu for lunch was very limited and also not clear, what was starter and Main as all were listed in one go.My friend had fish and Chips, the Fried cod on a plate and a glass bowl of Chips with it - poor presentation for £19.I didn't like the limited Main selection, so I chose scallops and added two sides (potatoes and tamarind salad) to it to make it a main. I got 3 scallops in a cauliflower cream with fine chopped apples and 3 massive chunks of Fried bacon, pretty boring tastewise (£15). The potatoes (£4) came in a bowl, skin on and with butter but no salt, they did taste and look like from the day before. The salad was just green leaves, some brown, with mixed in coriand (very controversial herb!! I hate coriand and I thought it was parsley!) Very little tssteless dressing. As dessert I ordered a pecan pie. The pecan nuts were nice, but the pie itself was filled with alot of weird jello, that was just way too much and not enjoyable to eat. Maybe it would have been nicer warm. Presentation was poor for THAT PRICE (except scallops), satisfaction vs. price definitely NOT SATISFYING!£35,50 for a starter, two simple sides, cake & small glass of wine, plus 12.5% Service Charge! Totally overpriced!!Would not come again. There is a much better and more reasonable fine dining restaurant on weymouth beach.

I had a happy time here. We were so beautifully looked after by the gentleman that served us - he was charming, personable, kind. I'd long wanted to go to this restaurant and was happy to get a cancellation. The food did not disappoint - super fresh oysters, delicious scallops. I envied my companion's lobster roll - I didn't enjoy the fish soup quite as much but the overall experience was wonderful. We took coffee in the "library" - I dozed off peacefully and our host brought a blanket and a footstool. Would gladly have spent all day there. Thank you so much.
