After a busy grandson day, this pub is our ‘go to’ every Monday. The staff are welcoming, are happy to vary whatever is on the menu. The food is always freshly prepared and delicious, a clean, comfortable and friendly environment. Lovely!

Pleasant staff tho not enough of them but there is an advert on the bar for staff. Great mixed grill. Negatives in the menu as a group of three 2 of us got 2 for 1 on the mixed grill 1 didn't instead the sole payer got a free dessert but it wasn't enough to make up for the extra money ie £20.80 for 1 mixed grill and apart from hot sandwiches there wasn't a main course under £13 for solo eaters, maybe a rethink needed by the pub chain on that one as being local I couldn't just pop in being solo as would be to expensive.

Went for lunch, the service was good, prices at 2 for 1 were great. We had the pie chips and veg. All cooked to perfection. Carrots were the best tasting we have had for a while.

Went here a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday and we had a roast but we ended up not having anything as majority of stuff for roast was run out which the server behind the bar was supposed to tell us according to the chef so we decided to have something else..well we thought we could but everything we wanted was ran out no food in the kitchen?? Staff was quite rude as well as in didn't even apologize. Don't know if new management or something but trumpet major was miles better than this a few years ago and really gone down hill in all ways

A group of 16 of us arrived after our evening outing was cancelled. All the staff made us feel very welcome and sorted out a large table so we could all sit together. Very quick efficient service and nothing was too much trouble.

Hi I have always had a good experience on previous visits but last night we were very dissatisfiedThere seemed to be only one member of staff serving everythingThere were hardly any drinks available and we were told the wait for food would be a while but not until after we had ordered and sat downWe waited an hour and 15 mins for foodThe poor chap couldn't even find any clean cutleryThen we were asked to leave at 930 as the restaurant was closingOverall a poor experience of what used to be a great pub

Good Food with Family and will be returning again. Steak cooked beautifully and the Mega Mixed grill hit the spot. Great Burgers .As to be expected at the Trumpet. Aways items not available on the menu.No paper children's menu so had to download on the website. No Mustard condiments available, When paying for a £20 meal it's the least we would expect. There are a lack of staff to clear tables. No Custard available for the dessert menu. Not sure you can call it a cone of Onion Rings if a small handful served in a bowl . My wife had some sides missing off her steak (tomato mushroom etc)All in all you put up with the lack of items and plates on tables for the 2 for 1 main menus and the Staff.Thankfully the Bar Manager was a character and made us feel welcome and valued from the moment we walked in .

Waiter was very friendly. Food was ok, but prices are extortionate. Menu was very boring. Was cold in the pub and FREEZING!! in the baby changing facilities.I had lunch with my two grown up children and 3 month grand daughter. We live about 45 minutes away and have had a few disappointing visits. Each time we return, we hope that things are better but never are. This is my last visit. We also visit The Turks Head a lot. They have an amazing carvery 6 days a week. It costs £10.95 a head.Maybe you should rethink your prices as it’s not really 2 for 1 as the prices are mage higher to obviously cover that!!

We were welcomed at the door and everything was explained to us. Everything was very well organised and the staff although very busy knew exactly what they were doing. We were a party of mixed ages from 75 down to 6 and we all had a great meal and a lovely time. Would definitely do it again, this was our first Christmas meal at the Trumpet Major and it was great.

I had a straightforward meal, but as you can see from the attached menue there is a good selection. Staff friendly and catered for your needs, prices good as well. Will visit again..
