Food like I've never had in a pub before; more like michelin star restaurant...and so reasonably priced! Staff really accommodating to my dietary needs; such amazing service. I highly recommend this venue!!!

we stopped in with our puppy as very dog friendly. if you want to socialise your dog the perfect place lots of dogs. really friendly staff. Nice ale .it was very busy so didn't eat there but if how busy is anything to go by it must be good .Will go back later in the week.

What a great pub, comfortable and welcoming, with a good reasonably priced menu. We both had a Thai fish curry served with jasmine rise and fresh vegetables, which was very good. We also had deserts, which again were very good all washed down with a pint which cost under £4, I kid you not, under £4.A pub serving good pub food, well worth a visit if in the area.

Cozy venue but food was very forgettable aside from expensive. Travelled an hour from home to try as read was one of the best places to eat but won't rush back. Not bad food but not worth £17 for a duck leg and cold vegetables

They managed to squeeze us in and we ended up in the bay window which was great as we could see the world around us and feel the heat from the lovely fireplace. Table Service was quick, friendly and helpful. The food was lovely with Hugh Yorkshire pudding. Served lovely and hot, well presented and with the veg served on separate plates so you could have as much or as little on your plate as you wanted. Extra gravey was supplied in a good sized jug for the table to share. And one of our party was unsure what meat they wanted so they provided a mix for them. The menu was clear and wide with a nice selection of starters, mains and desserts. A nice Sunday lunch was had by all. Would go back again definitely

This is becoming a regular lunchtime stop when our small group is out walking. Inside the pub always seems to be busy - so probably best to book. We have been sitting outside, which suits us fine, staff are attentive and polite, good range of Palmer's beers are very well kept and never disappoint. The menu is comprehensive and goes beyond normal pub grub, the special starter deal has some really tasty Tapas style dishes - our vegetarian walker enjoys the bang bang cauliflower and dirty chips with jackfruit. Shame to get back to the walking really.

We visited for a weekday lunch and meet up with friends and the atmosphere was perfect for this. I would highly recommend the food and the bar snacks in particular. These were like really good quality tapas but on steroids. The portions were sufficient that just a couple of them would have been enough for a full meal for one, so sharing 3 or 4 of them amongst a group is definitely do-able if that's your thing. If you're a drinker of ales you'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Palmer's beer selection. The pub was dog friendly too. The only downside - Parking was a bit limited.
