White Horse Inn in West Dorset
Where is White Horse Inn?
🏠 Litton Ln, Dorchester DT2 9AT
"The White Horse Inn is a cosy family run pub in the picturesque village of Litton Cheney right in the heart of the Bride Valley. Offering excellent Palmers Ales and a traditional high quality pub food menu with locally sourced and seasonal produce where possible. Andy and Liz have over 30 years of experience within the pub trade, and have a reputation for providing a friendly service along side great ales and lagers, fantastic food in a lovely friendly atmosphere. Boasting a sunny beer garden with a stream running along the side of it, an outdoor BBQ and private camping in the warmer months. A roaring log fire, skittle alley and homely roast dinners in the winter, we aim to be your idea of a proper village pub."

Lovely country pub and eaterie in a picturesque village in rural Dorset. I had the beef, mushroom and ale pie with a seasonal vegetable side and roast potatoes. Everything was cooked really well and the portion size is quite impressive. The wait for food can be a bit long at busy times but the quality of the food more than makes up for this and doesn't detract from the overall experience. The staff are friendly and welcoming and were very understanding despite our late arrival (two accidents on the A35, not ideal!). A wonderful experience all round. Highly recommended. PS. Ignore the bad reviews. There's nothing to complain about here. For those of you that have, maybe give them another try. You won't be disappointed.

Friendly pub on a quiet Lane. Pleasant garden area with a gentle stream. In September 2021 they were doing two meals a day every day except Sundays, when there was a roast lunch option. Veggie burger with apple, beetroot, fennel and dill very good, if big! Nice regional beers also. Short walk through fields from Litton Lakes campsite.

Lovely pub by a stream between Weymouth and Bridport. Down to earth traditional local with beer garden and plenty of space. We waited a little long for our food but it was worth the wait. Friendly service and warm, friendly atmosphere.

Great country pub, we had the Friday fish and chips, very good. Due to current Covid restrictions the food was served in a takeaway box, but still very good. We stayed over night in our camper in the car park. They have toilets and a shower available. Also some great walks in the area.

Fantastic traditional pub that really stands above the rest. We stopped by for their fish and chips night with the children and not only did we have the best fish and chips I can remember in my adult life but there was a charming atmosphere, friendly staff who made you feel like you were welcome in their home. Despite all of the extremely well executed social distancing measures, you got exactly what you want from a "Local"! There was plenty of space outside for the children to enjoy and which made enjoying the great selection of well selected draughts all the more enjoyable. Thank you.

Could not ask for more, food was excellent all 6 of us had a different dish and all 6 left empty plates, a very welcome atmosphere friendly staff we live 40 minutes away but have found a new local. Get in quick as this is a hidden gem that once discovered will be a "book well in advance pub". Cant praise it enough.Thank you Andy, Liz, Hannah, Paul and Joshua
