Butterflies Cafe and Coffee Shop in West Somerset

We stumbled by this delightful cafe quite by chance during a weekend break. The decor is beautiful and very clean everywhere. Food was perfect. I had been craving a ploughmans lunch for ages but nowhere seems to do tgem anymore. Butterflies not only did them but it was the best I've ever had. Prices good and the owner and chef were charming and so welcoming. As if all that wasn't enough, they are also completely dog friendly. Don't go to Minehead without paying a visit to Butterfl.es

Butterflies cafe is just lovely. The two ladies who served us couldn’t have been any nicer but unfortunately the food was lacking. My husband had the chicken pie which was a reasonable price but we were astonished when it was brought to our table. The pie was no bigger than an individual Bakewell Tart and the chicken inside mostly pastry would only just fill an egg cup. The chips were nice though. My ploughman’s was equally disappointing. The ham, which normally in a ploughman’s is thick and off the bone, was the thin packaged ham normally used for sandwiches. The cheese was also disappointing, a few small strips of very mild cheddar.The rest of the meal isn’t worth mentioning. I can’t speak for the other food on the menu. Maybe we just chose the wrong food on the day. Butterflies was the first cafe we came to when we visited Minehead, but if we had onlywalked a little further, we would have had a choice of so many more.Looking at your response of the other reviews it’s just as well we didn’t say anything at the time as it seems you don't take a little bit of criticism well. You say you don't do big plates of cheap food but unfortunately the ham and cheeseon the ploughman's was very cheap.

Love this pretty little cafe in Minehead the staff are friendly & professional and the food is excellent.If you’re in Minehead this is the place for coffee & cake. Also there speciality music evenings are pretty special too

We had a beautiful breakfast this morning. Lovely customer service. We’d highly recommend. Most definitely be returning.

My wife and I, popped in for a tea and a sandwich. We had 2 teas, I had a cheese and tomato baguette, my good wife had tuna baguette. Well chuffed with food and service.

Found this cafe be chance. Lovely atmosphere & owner/staff were very welcoming & polite. Had a delightful breakfast with my friend. Hoping to return sometime soon. (Chef's kiss at the freshness of food AND 5☆ as served on warm plates.)

Amazing Atmosphere here. My Auntie is a local so I decided to give here a try a couple times while I was visiting and on both occasions the food was lovely. Staff very friendly, polite and very welcoming. Will definitely be visiting again when I come back down next time. Enjoyed very much. Both occasions sat outside as it was a lovely day for it as you people watch 😊👌🏾 Thank you so much for making my first and second experience enjoyable. Very much appreciated. The kind of service you would expect at any business ⭐

We visited here on a day out in Minehead. The cafe is very pretty and inviting and staff pleasant. We had cream teas £5.50 each which were presented lovely but unfortunately the scones lacked fruit. We were also overcharged by 50p so maybe worth checking your bill.

This place is stunning! We just had drinks but will definitely have food next time as it looked great. Staff lovely and friendly, very clean too.
