Best place on Exmoor for cakes, afternoon teas etc. Birds all around, nestled in the woods with lovely walks all around. They sell plants but you need cash. Tea room takes cards.

Location: fantastic. View: majestic. Garden set up: fantastic. Chocolate cake: Off the chart. We rolled up at the end of the day out of school holiday. They were just about to shut but let us in for tea. They had run out of scones so we went for the Chocolate cake. Never been happier to miss out on cream tea. The lightest but chocolates I have ever had

The tea gardens were closed but we've been before and was very nice. The walks are great but you need wellies at this time of the year.

·

Great lunch after a morning walking the estate. Very reasonably priced and served by friendly staff. Would visit again.

·

Stumbled across this tea room, what a delight it was. Delicious choice of food & reasonably priced. Lots of seating under cover if needed or outside under umbrellas.

·

The Best Cream teas I've ever tasted, and believe me I've had a few. Set in beautiful surroundings in a lovely garden.

·

Excellent place to visit after a long walk in the hills. Dog friendly too*Update*Visited again in 2021 and this cafe is still great. Covid safe with new outdoor sheds in case of rain

·

Very adorable place with fresh scones at a picturesque location. A minus for the unpleasant lady at the register on Saturday the 1st of August.

·

Warm generous scones with enough cream and jam and tea to make it feel decadent. Friendly young lad served us well and the garden is a lovely setting with shade and sun and plants for sale. Parking round the corner is National Trust but only £1 for two hours enough to visit the river afterwards.

The tea shop next door is a far more better place the ploughmans is so small and nothing like a ploughmans lunch tea for two in a small stainless steel pot that would only fill one and a half cups also the tray hadn't landed on the table before they where asking for payment there's lots of little things that make a tea room stand out and this establishment needs some of this bone China for starters green leads on plate with salad serve not the dressed iceberg tasteless and just full of nothing please take this as constructive criticism as I would love to return in the near future to see a super tea room that deserves to be called such
