It took an hour for our food to arrive, no apology or explanation. Overpriced food and the waiter was dressed for a country walk.

Lovely pub. Welcoming fires, nice food and ambiance. It has been an annual lunchtime stop on way to Giants of Rock for several years. Situated on very scenic roads.

Peter and Linda are outstanding hosts and clearly love their business. The staff are excellent and very helpful. New Years Eve was great fun with a family atmosphere!Thank you for a great week, we'll no doubt see you again. Felt like the new guys having met a couple who'd been returning for 25 years!Peter and Yvonne.

Great food, good service lovely place to stop for lunch. The only thing is they don't do a children's menu and won't give an extra plate for a child to share food from adult plates which makes it hard for us to recommend them to our guests who tend to have children in the party

Very disappointed and quite shocked at the lack of customer service we received on our visit. Booked a table a few weeks prior for in the bar. When we arrived we were put just inside the door on a table which was next to the till at the bar so we were cut off by a queue of people ordering drinks. Most didn't have masks on even though there was a sign requesting it. People were so close they were knocking our table. So we asked to move tables and the woman at the bar was very rude and barked back that they were full and had no tables. Dismissed from the bar to serve others. She obviously couldn't handle the situation but there was no need to be so rude! So we settled our drinks bill and she was so rude again saying that the table was adequate. Even someone in the queue said your sat in the wrong place there aren't you! The staff member shouted back, they're alright there! So rude. We said its our choice to leave. Very poor customer service and actually very aggressive. She even followed my wife out arguing! Would not go back.

Great selection of whisky and service. Food was okay. We had a salad which was primarily white bits of an iceberg and venison which was slightly overcooked and small for price.

We stumbled across this place and decided to stop for a drink, great selection of local drinks, ales and lagers! Sat out the front looking over the river. The staff were great and the food looked lovely however we didn't eat! Would definitely be returning.

Part of a coach party of 30. Lunch preferences ordered beforehand, but they served the meals up quickly and efficiently with a smile. Lovely large pub in middle of Exmoor. Small separate eating areas as well as larger spaces. One moan. Why do pubs/restaurants fill the plates with chips?

Note: this hotel is in a pro-hunting village and there are hunting themes in the hotel.Booked here same day when our tent was flooded. Very lovely staff, accommodated us when we wanted to avoid being too close to other tables. Room had everything needed, a bit small but it was the last one. Food was ok, cider was nice.Nice area to walk around. Would return.

We stopped for breakfast and a coffee after a very stressful 24hrs and sat outside by the river and had a very pleasant time. The bacon sandwiches and coffee were excellent but what really stands out was the service. The two guys who served us were warm and kind and got us sorted out even though we were a bit late for breakfast. We will be back. Highly recommended.
