Lovely foodie pub if a little out of the way. Might have had a 5* if not for wedge of pineapple (skin and all) served with gammon. Otherwise excellent quality and service

Went for a few pints in the evening with a few friends. Sat at the bar drank good beer had an enjoyable evening. Seemed quite busy would definitely return

A pleasant pub with an authentic traditional feel serving standard pub fares, albeit a little uninspiring for those after more depth of culinary experience. Service was spot on. Reasonably priced too.

Been a few times over the summer sat in Nice beer garden with river running past it, had a burger and chip. Sounds average can assure you it's one the best burgers had in yrs can't wait to book a real dinner there one evening

Service was warm and welcoming on a cold Sunday evening. We booked a table while we were visiting on holiday and was not disappointed. Both of our meals were loaded full on the plates and the puddings were delicious! Attentive waiter and very good prices. Highly recommened.

Arrived back from the Valiant Soldier today. The rooms were lovely best hotel beds and pillows I’ve ever slept on. Would like to know where to buy them. The breakfast was great and a great evening meal menu too. Really polite and friendly staff. Would recommend this lovely pub to every one. Well worth a visit

small but cosy and friendly pub with good ale and nice food. There's a one way in and out system atm due to covid19. prices are reasonable and you get alot for your money, with portion sizes quite large. plenty of parking with wheelchairs also catered for. Good value for money, will be going again.
