Friendly staff, arrived a bit late but they still served us some great food. Nice place!

The Windmill Inn is a nice pub and guesthouse, perfect for people attending events at St Audries Park venue, just across the street. We stayed a few days and experienced :-sleeping there : large rooms, very clean and some accessible in a wheelchair ♿️-eating : as you would expect, food is exactly what you would find in a pub but there are a few vegetarian options. Very good, large portions and service is ok.-drinking : few ciders available, not a great choice of beer but still a very cosy and warm place to spend a few hours. From my perspective, prices are decent for staying, eating and drinking.Thank you to the staff!

After reading online that the pub was dog friendly we thought this would be a great place to grab some dinner after our dog walk on the Quantocks. Stunning location with superb views over St Audries Park, the lovely sunny quiet garden with tables and chairs looked an ideal spot to spend a couple hours over a nice meal. However, we were soon told they don’t serve food in the garden?! Umm sorry what? (I even offered to pay upfront in case that was the reason!)Needless to say we settled for a table in the bar area where we were told we could have our dogs.Upon ordering drinks we were informed they didn’t have any fruit ciders so we would have to settle for Thatchers which was on tap. Having 2 children with us we asked for some straws for their drinks - apparently they don’t do straws?!After a rather abrupt waitress took our order, we soon had our food, my burger came out as tough as old boots! We then asked for some ketchup for the chips - ‘sorry we’ve ran out’ was the reply?! A pub running out of ketchup?? How?!My partner and friend both opted for the carvery, roast potatoes of course and a good choice of meats was spoilt but the fact that 2 of the 4 available vegetables served were cabbage!‘Would we like to see a dessert menu?’ was the next time the waitress made any contact with our party. ’Yes please’ we replied. Over it came but only for her to explain 3 out of the 6 options were out of stock! The finally icing on the cake was whilst we were eating they decided to water the hanging baskets outside the front of the building, not an issue you would presume but when the baskets in question are hanging directly above the main steps in/out of the establishment how you’re supposed to get past without getting drenched is a mystery! All in all I wouldn’t recommend this ‘pub’ to my worst enemy! AVOID AT ALL COST!

Food OK but table service was hit and miss depending who served you we had 3 tables booked and all had different experiences our waitress was rude from the start waited 20mins I asked to take our order and was rudley put in my place and told they were not ready to take food orders strange because other family members on another table had already placed their orders.when we finally got to place our order I asked if cheesy garlic bread & onion rings were available which got me an abrupt reply if their not on the menu then you can't order it another strange one as my sister in law ordered the same items and received them my wife questioned this at the bar and the same rude waitress who served our table said to my wife I all ready told you their not available my sister in law was told by their waitress not to let anyone else see they have had them. Be aware the online menu that is online does not match the menu you get when you are at the restaurant they seem to run a daily menu which changes so be prepared for our table it was not a good experience also my sister in laws table got their order wrong as menu said 1x 6oz gammon stake £11 or 2 x 6oz gammon stake £14 they thought this read 2 x 6oz gammon stakes for one meal instead they were brought another 1x 6oz gammon stake meal meaning they had an extra meal not ordered which they were told had to be paid for check carefully what you order to avoid confusion to how the menu is worded

A charming independent non-chain country pub. Stayed here for a wedding which was at the venue across the road. My room was clean, cosy and really comfortable. It was on par with more expensive hotels. For me, what really made my stay was the hospitality. From the moment I arrived to when I left, the staff were nothing short of fantastic. For dinner I ordered the New York Pastrami Burger and when it arrived it was, unfortunately, undercooked for my liking. I mentioned this to the staff and they immediately brought me out a new one which was cooked perfectly. If that wasn’t enough the manager did not charge me for this. I was not expecting that and would never have expected that as I was expecting to pay. After all the chef did nothing wrong. Check my other reviews; I’ve never fished for a free meal. If I could give this review an extra star I would.Staff that made my stay amazing were: Libby, Orla and Kyle. Special thanks to the chefs whose names I didn’t get; the New York Pastrami burger was amazing!!

We have had to stay near my parents a couple of times in the last week as my mum was in Williton Hospital. The hotel has been amazingly accommodating and friendly. We had a lovely breakfast. Would so recommend this hotel. Knowing the area as I grew up around here the hotel is nestled next to the Quantocks. Quick drive to Exmoor and a great base to explore.

Lovely spacious room, nice big comfy bed, very clean, nice views, the reason I didn't give 5 stars was because we had a freezing cold bathroom because radiator was broken which is not good enough, should of been mended when your paying £150 a night !! nice meals in restaurant, shame there's not enough seats in bar when your drinking !!.. all the seating was laid up for eating only !!!
