woods restaurant and wine bar in West Somerset

We had a lovely meal at Woods staff were ever so friendly and attentive. I had mackerel fillets to start which were delicious. I followed this with more fish the gurnard and this was amazing and so wonderfully presented and cooked.I didn't manage a pudding but my partner did and she had a chocolate fondant that looked and apparently tasted amazing I didn't get a look in lol !!!We thought it was excellent value and would definitely go again.

Lovely food and interesting tasty menu. Arnold Bennett omelette nicely cooked. It was full house tonight so the wait was understandably a bit long (45min between order and starter). Friendly and hard working staff. Nice evening.

Well what can I say about the Woods Bar and Restaurant. Lovely atmosphere in the evening the staff were very attentive and with a smile. Menu was varied and different. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was lush home cooked. With wine for the two of us three courses was just of £80 :00.Very enjoyable evening ten out ten. Need to book but we'll worth it, Thank you.

Entered about 6pm, only one table in use, not booked so asked if a table for 2. No, was answer but can sit in bar, waitress surly. Offered a scrap of paper with 4 choices. Ordered and ate food, bang average. The thing is the whole time we were there, over an hour, three tables were never used. So, upshot is, service was poor, we ordered and spent only half of what we would of if we had been offered one of the 3 unused tables. Shame as our holiday host had recommended the place. Apparently a good wine list but were never offered it.

Fabulous place, excellent service and superb food. Its our second visit in 2 months with our lovely friends and our dogs. First time was lunch whilst on holiday on Exmoor and last Friday was to celebrate our anniversary/works Christmas do. Thank you for another memorable visit, we shall be back. Have a fabulous Christmas all, csee you in 2022 🙂

So lucky that we were able to visit Woods for the evening, such a wonderful, friendly atmosphere ! The menu was a delight and the food tasted divine! 😋 Woods also has a fantastic wine cellar too! Thanks to my lovely brother and sister in law and all the staff who made it such a special evening ❤ xx

Fabulous lunch in a pub and restaurant with great ambiance. Super lunch menu. I can thoroughly recommend the steak and bacon salad. Place was busy and buzzing, but the service was excellent. Will certainly return again. Set in a super little town and great place to meet our friends in Devon halfway from us in Somerset

Well organised, we were greeted on arrival and shown straight to our table. Menus were already there including the gluten free. Water was brought to our table with drinks. Did have to ask twice for the wine list.We will be recommend to others.

As someone who was born and raised in Dulverton but has now lived in London for 7 1/2 years. I can honestly say the food here is on par with the Michelin rated restaurants you get in the city.The flavours will blow you away, along with the presentation. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The wine list is also exceptional. One of the reasons I went.Overall. It did not disappoint and I will be returning.
