Golden Kitchen in Weymouth and Portland

Very friendly staff first time under new management.. I had The Special Fried Rice with plenty of gravy and prawns and Battered Chicken with Sweet & Sour sauce and I have been before but second time around was spot on definitely would go again and that’s why I have changed my ratings…brilliant keep up the good work was lovely

Underwhelming. I ordered after seeing the amazing reviews ("best Chinese in Weymouth!" and "best Chinese I've ever had!", etc.), but frankly was disappointed.The good: portion sizes were VERY large, and the aromatic duck (I got a quarter) was much larger than any other takeaway and was very very good (not fatty at all thankfully)!! Free prawn crackers which was nice :)The bad - Vegetable chow mein was incredibly dry. I had to add my own sauce to help it, but this kind of defeats the purpose of a takeaway? The Satay chicken was not great at all either. I didn't personally like the sauce and thought the chicken itself tasted rubbery, but my partner said it was okay but definitely didn't taste like a traditional satay sauce- too sweet. (We ended up not eating most of it). Spring rolls were also chewy and bland (tasted like pre-made frozen ones from a supermarket honestly).The order also took 45 minutes to arrive. Although that was what we were told ("up to 45 minutes"), it was honestly really surprising it took that long given our relative proximity to the restaurant and the time we ordered (ordered around 17:30). We just expected it sooner., I guess Although this isn't a bad thing since we were warned, the food arrived lukewarm and some items had to be reheated which isn't great...Will give the benefit of the doubt and assume I may have ordered some of their worst plates (excluding duck), but personally I will not be returning to find out.

Absolutely glorious! After an 8 hour drive to littlesea we arrived famished! We had a wide range of meals and every bit was delicious!Lovely family run business with lovely staff. Everything was cooked to order (I had my meal without onions, wasn't a problem for them to cook without) everyone is now sitting in our caravan ready to burst!
