This place is definitely worth a visit.Nice friendly staff, good honest food at a very reasonable price and fantastic views.Highly recommended.

This a gem of a place. I found out about it after my daughter visited a client at the Verne and recommended a visit. The approach to the cafe was itself great fun. About a mile of zig-zagging up hill with stunning views of the coast. Access is through a tunnel controlled by traffic lights so don't be put off by thinking you aren't allowed in.Unfortunately the coffee machine wasn't working when we went so only filtered on offer. But normally a full range is on offer. We didn't eat there, but the breakfasts coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. Prices were low -£1.50 for a mug of filtered coffee. Staff were efficient and friendly. This little cafe is definitely on our return list. If you're brave you could probably walk up from the main road to appreciate the views. I'll stick to four wheels

A brilliant hidden gem with excellent food at fair prices and the views from up there are second to none, that is in November, must be incredible when it's warm too.

Very friendly, great cheese n ham toastie followed by home made chocolate cake. Spectacular views over portland Harbour. Totally recommend and supporting a great cause.

It's a bit of a trek to get up there if you walk, but the views are worth it. Food was nice and is prepared by those from the prison to teach skills etc. There was a very long queue when we were there, so service was a little slow, but the view from the garden is amazing.

Lovely and quite cheap food created and served by friendly staff working for a rehabilitation charity. Don’t be put off by the drive through the prison gates, and the views are the best on the island.

Lovely views, polite staff. Cheap coffee and the food looked tasty (we didn’t eat there). Worth having a wonder around the areas you can access whilst you are there. Very interesting.
