My girlfriend and I visited yesterday, the staff were very friendly and the cheese scones were delicious, and they make a lovely pot of tea. I will definitely visit again when I'm next in Weymouth.

Lovely friendly people. Enjoyed my Hot Dorset Apple Cake. Dog friendly too.

I'm so glad we walked into this little coffee shop. Inside you will find two lovely people running the place, a good positive atmosphere and good food. The vegan burger is definitely a healthier option than what you get in most vegan places, and it's tasty. We enjoyed our talk with the owner, who's a great man with good manners and principles. When we go back to Weymouth we will definitely go again. I highly recommend this place. Please support local businesses!

Fantastic little gem of a cafe. Very friendly staff & great service. Highly recommend getting their Victoria sponge along with your drinks. Looking forward to coming again soon!!

We popped into for a quick lunch. Took a while for our presence to be acknowledged, then a pleasant man asked if we would like a table. We did. He cleaned the only free table for us and we sat down. After perusing the menu, we found that it wasn't quite as varied as the board outside had lead us to believe so we said 'thank you' and left. Imagine our supportive when a few minutes later the, previously pleasant, man accosted us in another cafe! He proceeded to berate us for making him clean a table and then leaving - which meant he had to clean it again! He said we were very rude and shouldn't go into restaurants if we don't plan on staying. We were very polite and apologised for wasting his time, and explained that we just didn't fancy anything they had to offer. He again berated us for not looking properly before taking up a table. We are local people and try to give our money to local businesses - but suffice to say Stanley's will not be seeing us again, or anyone else we can persuade to avoid this rude old man!EDIT:The response I have received below is actually pretty accurate. The respondent seems to go out of his way to validate many of my points! We were offered a table (eventually) - it was cleaned. We never disputed that. We did NOT order coffee and I never said we did, I merely stated that was our intention. We most definitely DID say thank you and goodbye as we left. The mad old man who 'happened' to track us down DID NOT ask us any thing at all about a bag. Yes, we did accept his 'friendly advice' and yes, we did apologise. That is what civilised people do when angrily confronted and demeaned in a public place. We DID state we would not return to 'his' establishment. The ownership is irrelevant - he was acting as it's representative and it is to and his wholly unjustified anger that our lost custom is ascribed. There was no exaggeration of the menu contents - if there were things other than baguettes and cake, perhaps they were reserved for the 'deserving' and properly obsequious customers?

Stanley's is hands down the best cafe that Weymouth has to offer. Its small, has great food, great staff and a great atmosphere. We have recently been visiting Stanley's on the weekends and never have had a dull moment in there and look forward to their return of business following lockdown. I have seen a few negative comments aimed at the old man, I assume to be Stanley, regarding his customer service and I can only come to his defence. His customer service comes with a heavy sprinkling of banter and some people may take that the wrong way, but that's just him, but it beats the uniformed customer service where the only interaction is asking what you would like in the order. Please visit Stanley's

Small place but bad customer service. Came in for a cream tea with scones . Our tea arrived quickly but unfortunately our scones were nowhere to be seen. Our tea started to go cold, when we mentioned this to the staff we were told our tea ‘couldn’t possibly’ go cold and they laughed at us. This was really rude customer service and we were made to feel stupid. They did finally arrive. Would not return next time.

We googled information for the best cream tea in Weymouth. We decided to come here to treat my daughter to a cream tea. On entering the shop we were asked what we wanted to drink but hadn't even looked at a menu.We started to order but the person taking the order left mid order. I ordered a seafood chowder. It tasted ok but with only 1 piece of fish and 1 mussel and the rest being onion and potato I can't say it was a seafood chowder as such. We ended up with 2 macaroni cheese as the order had been a broken one.The server was quite abrupt in her serving our food to the table. I had to ask for a clean cup although I have to say none of the crockery or cutlery seemed that clean anyway. The server also cleared the table before we had finished eating which I find EXTREMELY rude. Our cream teas arrived. And we're returned as the sconeswere not cooked properly, were full of flour and so we left dissatisfied and on the hunt for a better cream tea. Won't be coming back.We had a lovely breakfast at St Mary's Tea Rooms this morning- would recommend you go there.

We have family in Weymouth and always go and get a bite to eat when we are there visiting but out normal cafe we go to was closed so we walked around trying to find another one and must say I'm glad we found this place it's very cosy and the service is second to none the staff just can't do enough for you, always checking our group were ok and the food was ok and it was. The food itself was lovely the beard was very tasty and the bacon was done just how I asked it to be done. Everyone from our group really enjoyed the food and drinks so now we have two places to go to when we are in Weymouth.
