Staff were polite and service was good. Had coffee and cake which were satisfactory

·

Friendly, Simple and sober. Nice Latte and helped us with vegan bf option outside of the menu !

·

Lovely cooked breakfast with quick friendly service. Good prices for the quality.

·

Delicious home cooked meals at a great price. Well worth a visit. Well worth the price point

·

Great food and interesting views, although actual venue a little small. Menu had vegan options. There were home made cakes and pickles available and apparently the roasts are amazing. Would visit again.

We went here for breakfast and it was very basic but homely in a way. The place was clean and bright so was the toilet. It was a tiny bit cramped inside the café but not a show stopper. I ordered scrambled eggs, beans and toast. I have to say I like my scrambled eggs in a certain way which they delivered. The staff member was very helpful and actually spent time talking to us so thanks for making us welcome. As far as I could tell everyone enjoyed their breakfast and I am sure we will visit again should we be in that neck of the woods in future. I would recommend this place to anyone for breakfast.

Such a quaint and cozy little café. A delicious breakfast after a night of camping at a very reasonable price!! Can't wait to go back. Also thankful for the map of Portland offered!!

I had the English breakfast here a couple of times. It was excellent - great ingredients, cooked just how I like it. Dogs allowed, plus there’s a dog-free area as well. The cafe also sells home made chutneys. Very nice staff. I would definitely go back. Even worth a detour onto Portland if I’m passing 😊

We loved our visit to Sugar Loaf. We popped in for a cream tea and hot chocolate surprise and where not disappointed. The staff where very friendly and accommodating. All homemade, felt very relaxed and went home with some homemade preserve treats.

Home-made variety of meals available. I had a Ploughmans - plenty of food on plate but would have preferred a crusty roll or French bread, not a soft roll. My companion ordered the Pate Ploughmans which was served with toast when crusty bread would have been better! The outside seating area is packed with fruiting plants, apple tree, grape vine, passion fruit vine, blackcurrants & blackberries as well as flowers. A sunny delight to enjoy al fresco dining! Also sell jams etc
