Sunset bar & restaurant in Weymouth and Portland

For me in overall was terrible, huge chips, I ordered Apple Jack Daniels with Apple juice and it doesnt even looks or taste like what im ordered, chicken burger worst ever, only bun and chicken fillet, thanks God they have tomato souce.

We have visited a number of times this weekend and the service was exceptional every time.on Saturday the sun was out and the whole place was very busy, beach bar, beach food and resteraunt. The staff were multi tasking in different areas when one place got busiest. 2 members of staff particularly stood out James and Emma but every member of staff went out of their way even at closing time and after very long shifts. The breakfast was amazing great value, super sausage and hash browns

Excellent food, great staff.I ordered the tagliatelle carbonara and it was made fresh. Whilst waiting for food you get a breathtaking view of the bay.Staff were friendly and gave plenty of recommendations for places to go.Price range for the food would be about £13-£15 for most dishes (specialities and mixed grills excluded of course).Highly recommend a visit closer to sunset, although still beautiful at lunch!

Felt like we were abroad! Loved the view and the open doors showcasing the beach and ocean view. Tasty burgers and cheese pizza for our boy. Friendly staff.

What a very disappointing experience! It is in a great location, right on the beach. The menu also looked fine and a perfectly adequate selection for a family meal.The reality was somewhat different! We went to the restaurant at 6-30pm and asked for a table, and we were told by one of the waitresses to sit where we wanted and she would take our drinks order. We were then sat there for 25 minutes, before another waitress came over and took our drinks order, she then returned with our drinks fairly quickly. Another 25 minutes passed and no one came back to ask for our food order. There was two waitresses who just appeared to be standing over by the drinks station, and occasionally bringing out food in what was a fairly quiet restaurant. It looked totally disorganised and the waitress that took our drinks order ended up working in the kitchen as well.We finished our drinks and gave up with the food, as no one seemed interested in taking our food order. I paid up and told the waitress that we had been waiting for ages and no one had taken our order and she said she thought all orders had been taken! Anyway we then had a lovely burger around the corner in the shack bar and would certainly recommend there as a better option!

Food was absolutely great, good price and very high standards. We regularly visit Weymouth and sunset bar never lets us down. Also really nice staff. Highly recommended

Fantastic view, friendly service, average food. Always has loud pop music pumping out which is a shame. Dog friendly.

Lovely friendly staff, warm welcome and enjoyed returning to this restaurant while visiting Weymouth again. Love the view across Weymouth bay and Portland in the distance as the sun sets. Food was freshly served, hot and tasty and ok price wise, although there are things that i believe have slipped since we came here last but nothing really major, soap in mens toilet, waiting staff being a little more attentive, it didn't spoil the occasion & we will be back so overall thank you Sunset Bar & restaurant

We came in and sit down, lady come up took our drinks said she will be back to take order for food after 45min we had to look for someone to take our order. Finally we order and we had another 45 min waiting time for food, no it wasn't even busy.Customer service - poor , no one got interested in us to be served , we had to go and ask for receipt.. they wanted to charged us for something that was already with my meal , so please check you receipts.Food : dry , dry, dry I had steak which is 20£ so you expect something nice .. asked for medium got well done instead, they forget mushroom and onion rings on my meal. My partner got mixed grill and everything was overcooked as well ! For little pot of peppercorn sauce you have to pay 2.5£ and this souce don't even have a taste - waste of money.I don't recommend this place to anyone.

We didnt have a reservation but we were able to get a table for two at short notice which was good, we were served relatively quickly and had our drinks served to us within 5 mins of ordering. The food was okay, and looking around at other diners food, the burgers looked the nicest in its presentation. I had the chicken and mozerrella pasta, it was okay, a bit bland in taste and the chicken chunks were dry, it was a large portion though. My husband had a smash burger, however didnt have any kind of sauce inside so was very dry, small portion size of chips and a measly portion of coleslaw and salad. On the upside he did say the burger tasted good though.As the place got busier we werent then a thought in any of the waiters minds and was left alone. Noone came to check on us or offer any more drinks etc. It was also difficult to get anyones attention to get the bill, appreciate they were focussed on a large party however not the best dining experience overall.Probably would only return to have drinks rather than have dinner though.
