We typically finish our holiday with a breakfast out and after some extensive searching on Google and Trip Advisor we settled on Suttons. No problem with getting a table even though trade was steady. The menu is very extensive, the rules / guidance for the caffe was almost as extensive (I do say this with a sense of humor). It all makes sense to tell people to queue to the right so they can bring food out to the left and they must have had to say this a million times to people.I ordered one Suttons breakfast, one normal breakfast, one veggie, a tea, coffee and a milk shake, which came to just under £30, given the quality of the ingredients this was a fair price, nothing was too expensive. I judge a breakfast by the quality of the sausages and these were very nice, probably butchers sausages. My only gripe and this is where the 1 star is lost - was the time to be served and the time for the food to be brought out. There were perhaps three people ordering in front of me and they all had lots of little complexities in their food order, then the drinks order, all made by the same person taking the order, put on a tray then you pay, and off you go for your food to be brought out to you when prepared. This approach would be fine but things like hot chocolates and specialty coffees take a little extra time.I would like to balance this by saying the lady was working flat out, anyone else I seen was also working flat out, but they needed someone taking orders, someone doing drinks. Maybe that's the normal way, this was my first visit so I can't judge entirely. Please don't be put off by this review, I don't want to sound overly negative, just be aware of the time factor. I will certainly go back as it was good quality at a good price and ultimately not a rushed experience which was nice. Also, they will take cards but prefer cash because of a slow card machine.I will re-review and hopefully give that extra star.

Very clean staff friendly but service was slow. We ordered the homemade steak pie which would have been nice if it had not been microwaved

My friend and I popped in here for lunch as we realised as locals we had never visited before, but we will definitely be returning. I ordered their homemade pie, which was very tasty. I had the chicken, ham and vegetable pie, the pie crust we thin, but as a pie, the filling was filled to the max. Everyone was very friendly, the service was good and the food arrived in good time on hot plates. Would highly recommend. There wasn't an empty table during our visit, when one table left, it was very quickly taken again.

What a gem of a place hidden behind both the beach and harbour. Very good covid protocol. Called in on the off chance of buying a takeaway cream tea and was extremely impressed with the packaging and presentation, especially as it was a gift to take home to family

Lovely traditional cafe, actually opens early enough for breakfast (most cafes seem to open at 9 or even 10 in mid-September). Starts getting really busy around 9, so best to go slightly earlier. Service is wonderful, the staff made us feel so welcome we went back the following day. Food was good and substantial, nothing fancy, but good stuff and good prices. Jacket potatoes for breakfast fueled us for a long hike in the sun, and the egg custard tart was wonderful: light and not too sweet!

We had a beautiful breakfast at Sutton. The staff were lovely and treated us with respect, taking temperatures and providing hand gel due to Covid. They really went out of their way to make eating out a lovely experience. Thank you Suttons.
