The Golden Lion, Weymouth in Weymouth and Portland

Pub was lovely and welcoming but the Sunday dinner was horrible ...food had no flavour and was really small for the price ..

Good pub with lots going on. There was a Quiz night tonight. Well welcomed by the locals 👍

I booked the golden lion 4 my self my husband and our 2 close friends a cupples night away.we arrived at the old lion and was met with so much welcome the land Lords couldn't have been more nicer or helpful .(1st place we have ever stayed where we were made so welcome. )the rooms were clean with fresh towels. the food was fantastic and they couldn't help us more if they tried. I can honestly say this place is brilliant and I can't wait 2 come back in a few weeks .this place with its great location its brilliant landlords and staff is the best so if u want a lovely welcoming pace go there .we loved every minute.

Just like to say that this place is a very friendly pub & staff are very nice & welcoming the band are very good & I can't wait to stay there again.

Great pub, food okish and they have fantastic local bands on most weeks....

another lovely dog friendly pub .the landlord is real nice and made you feel really welcome. he even brought over a water bowl and a bit of meat for out little lady ..they are new and I can see thus being a very popular pub .Will be back soon

This is the most homely place in Portland, Annie is the life of the party with her overly hospitality, Lloyd is a pool master who is always up for the challenge, and Jamie is the hostess with the mostest:) Come for fun and leave with friends.

Proper pub, great bar staff and live music on the night we visited, the brilliant Rock Apes.Well worth a visit and great to have somewhere that doesn't focus so much on younger customers

Booked a five night break, hotels.com it said there would be live music so would be some noise. Love live music, so that wouldn’t be a problem.No live music but Friday night the pub turned into a night club which went on to 1.15 am. (Supposed to finish at 12.) Room shook and the music was so loud we couldn’t hear anything or sleep. No warning of this when booking.Watch out for the church bells as well which toll the time every hour for 24 hours a day. It’s like having a broken alarm clock on permanent snooze. Broken sleep. Not the pubs fault but still annoying.Pros. Great location, lovely bar staff, clean contemporary rooms. But above should make you think twice before booking. Mid week should be safe but avoid club night.
