Athena Meze Bar & Restaurant in Wiltshire

Overpriced(from Londoner's perspective) and Adequate at best. Wouldn't go back. I guess you can't expect much at such a tiny town mainly serving as gateway town for tourist to Cotswolds.Would give 2 stars, but the service was actually really good. The guy who I believe was the floor manager was super friendly and knew what he was doing. He wouldn't be out of place at Michelin level restaurants.

We had a great evening here with friends. Nice food, attentive staff and very friendly atmosphere. Some good vegetarian options too, we have booked to go back very soon.Thanks Athena. Lyndon S

Myself, my daughter and youngest son had the most amazing lunch here today, the food was fresh, presented beautifully, and the main factor! It tasted delicious, the service was great, the staff friendly and helpful. If you fancy a meal out in Chippenham this is a great choice.

The food was absolutely delicious, from the starters to the sharing platter, everything was really tasty and good portions. The service was also perfect and the staff super friendly, can’t wait to go back!

Super friendly staff, with okay food, but unfortunately the entertainment would prevent us from going back or recommending it to friends and family.A reasonable number of vegetarian options, and the shared Gyros was more than enough for the two people who ordered it (and to share with others on the table with all the sides it came with!).There was a musician who was entertaining (this was on a Friday night at 19:30), but the music was exceptionally loud (too loud to speak over) and many would find his humour and interactions with the guests intrusive and crude.

We last visited 5 years ago and made a point of coming back when visiting the area. Still really great food with generous portions. Pleased you could buy a pint of cola and not limited to those little bottles. Recommend the desserts. Would be nice to get lamb moussaka as an option.

I visited with my husband and ordered the Greek salad as a starter and the lamb shank to share as a main. The reason we shared was because portions on other tables looked a really good size. After waiting over 45 minutes the salad arived even though we asked for the starter and main come together. The salad wasn't accurate cucumber missing, there was a slice of red onion hiding under the mixed leaves which arent part of a Greek salad.When the lamb finally arrived the meat was lukewarm and the gravy was hotter than the lamb. Mush potatoes were replaced with 4 wedges of roasted potato, 1 floret of cauliflower and 1 floret of broccoli.During the meal we noticed other tables receiving their complimentary shots with ouzo mixed with grenadine cranberry and blood orange juices. At the end of our meal we didn't receive any shots and apologie or even an acknowledgement for the lateness of the meal. As a Greek citizen I find this experience very disappointing.

Lovely food, would definitely recommend and great atmosphere. I wish the moussaka was made from lamb mince, but the beef was beautiful and tasty.
