Beckford Arms in Wiltshire

What a wonderful Pub. Great location with gorgeous comfortable rooms. All the team are so friendly and accommodating. We shall definitely be going back again.

Found this place by chance when searching for a placeTo eat on homeward journey from Devon to London. What a lucky find!! Surprised to find they nearly couldn’t seat us on a Monday lunch time but now I know why - Excellent food, service and ambience. All our food was delicious (rhubarb cheesecake dessert, crispy cavolo nero side and hispi cabbage main was a highlight) and well priced . Dog friendly too :) would recommend and certainly return. Thank you!

Nice pub with really nice staff and the food is good, all set in a nice location.One point though, the 'outside' area which allows smoking with ashtrays on the tables, is pretty much enclosed. So there is little ventilation which results in it being as bad as inside. I recommend booking a table in the front by the bar and not by the door to the 'outside' area as the smoke wafts in. Otherwise it would have been 5*.

Stayed overnight, with a dog, and ate supper.From the arrival they were spot on, polite and welcoming. Showed my dog friendly room, easy access to the garden to walk him, and very comfortable beds with good sized en-suite..Dinner was delicious, ample and well presented, all served by a gaggle of people who although all young knew what they were doing.Pub was great, pre dinner, good pints, plenty of crisps and a warm, inviting atmosphere, with locals and guests like myself.Warmly recommend it for pints, wining , dining and also to stay the night.

Friendly staff in a lovely setting. For the quality of food however, prices are on the steep side, fish & chips and a drink each for 2 people, the bill came to £55.

We had a very nice overnight stay at this lovely old fashioned pub. The staff were very friendly and hospitable with reasonably good service.We both had steaks in the evening but unfortunately that was the let down of our break as they were full of grizzle ( it was obvious from that left on the plate) and didn’t have the heart to complain as the young staff were really run off their feet and couldn’t see the obvious signs.We were really looking forward to a nice cooked breakfast but it was served cold with not the greatest quality and that for us was the tin hat in the expectancy of a gastronomic pub experience.

I rarely take the time to submit a review, but there are occasions where one is well deserved. This was our first visit to the Beckford Arms and from the time of stepping inside of the door we were made welcome by a friendly team of staff: this continued throughout our meal which arrived at our table promptly after ordering. I casually mentioned that it was my birthday meal and when settling the bill I was presented with a chocolate brownie topped with a candle.A birthday treat to remember. Thank you.

Beautiful old pub with great food and good service. Had one of the best steaks I’ve had in years along with a good selection of drinks and nice wine list. Both our meals were excellent quality and good value, the service was attentive yet relaxed and didn’t feel stuffy at all. Nice to find a pub with wood fires and dogs. Will look to stay next time in one of the rooms.
