"A pub at the heart of the community and proud of our heritage. A quick catch up over a drink with family and friends, or catching all of the live action with our great sports viewing. There is always something going on in your local pub with a great atmosphere and value for money."

After a walk up to the White Horse carved into the stunning Wiltshire hillside, what better refreshment than perfectly served Doom Bar ale and a top quality Sunday roast ? We particularly liked the hot (spicy, not temperature) horseradish sauce served with the beef. Others enjoyed the home made curry and the huge burgers. Desserts were proper homemade English classics like bread and butter pudding and Eton Mess.Service couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and our four legged friends were welcomed and will probably never forget the unexpected meaty treat they received. Many thanks to the whole team for making a long overdue family reunion so enjoyable.

What a delicious bonus to a day of walking. We stopped in here on our way down from the Cherhill Horse and enjoyed the pie of the day, Steak and ale served with a choice of potatoes. Hand crafted and made from scratch they really were very tasty and all washed down with a couple of pints of Ale. The perfect end to a wonderful hike, except we still had another couple of miles left to the camp site,, on full bellies ... 😀

Excellent staff, friendly, efficient & professional. Nice menu & comfy interior. Very good food. Good drink selection. With it being a little bit more up market, I might have expected the cup of tea I ordered to come in a pot with milk on the side rather than served already in cup with milk.

Super Sunday lunch. Good service and very tasty food. Table a little on the small side for 4 diners, and the room was a bit chilly. We will definitely visit again though.

Phenomenal meals, a warm welcome, a lovely pub/restaurant. Out with the family, we all had something different, even one gluten free, the Black Horse dealt with it with ease and served some fantastic food. When we are back in the area we will definitely make a beeline to the pub for another meal. Thanks to all the staff and chefs.

Delicious food and friendly staff. Had prawn and scallop linguine which was so rich and delicious. Bread with it was gorgeous. Squid for starter was also delicious. My dad totally loved the crab soup! We were all chuffed with our meals, definitely will return

The new management that took over try their very hardest. Very friendly, clean, the service is excellent, approachable staff. Appetising seasonal lunch and a decent glass of red wine in a quirky English pub. What more could you ask for?!
