Missed opportunityLovely position in a perfect spot to view the locks and have a rest. However, we felt the menu was limited and my tea was basically a tea bag in a paper cup. My cheese sandwich on brown was stale but they did change it and apologised. Sorry- but it could be a whole lot better.

We stopped with a party of 6 and had an ice cream each with different flavours and everyone commented how fresh and delicious the ice creams were. The seats outside have a great view across the locks.

A pleasant cafe at the top of Caen Hill locks can be discovered in the converted lock keeper's cottage beside the Kennett and Avon canal.Service is through a hatch, thus reducing the constant need to sterilise the counter because of Covid-19. Unfortunately it also means only the garden seating area is in use at the moment, with a restricted amount of covered area if the weather is inclement. While the menu is limited to drinks, baps and cakes. Yet the staff are a happy and polite bunch of young ladies. (10/4/22)

Love this place. Nice staff, great location at top of the locks. Nice to sit out on a sunny day and a few tables inside too. Would be great to have a conservatory with more seating? And fried eggs not on the menu! Food is always great and very reasonable. Dog friendly. Just been on a sunny Saturday in March and had to queue to be served! Wonderful testimony of popularity. Sausage sandwiches, cake, teas and Marshfield icecream... yippee!

Great coffee and snacks. Lovely location overlooking the locks

·

At the top of Caen locks, food was lovely and decently priced. Great watching boats travelling up and down the locks.

·

The perfect place for a cuppa something to eat or just to have an ice-cream with a view of the locks it's worth a visit, plenty of seating outside.

·

Nice little cafe, basic food i.e. toasties, sandwiches etc. Found the coffee mediocre, having said that very welcome rest bite after walking Caen Hill lock's.

·

Lovely cafe in a stunning location with some lovely views over the locks. Nice selection of hot and cold drinks and cakes. Staff friendly.

Nice little cafe by the canal side. Sat outside as weather fabulous. Had my 2 dogs with us too and they were allowed in. A slightly limited menu but adequate. Left off a star just because of menu and bugs! The humid weather with no wind meant black bugs out in force canal side.
