Giggling Squid in Wiltshire

Popped in here on a bit of a whim and a little worried as my hubby is not the best with tai food. So glad we came in. The food was delicious, all beautifully presented and even my fussy hubby loved his meal. The lad serving us was awesome and really knew his stuff. We will most definitely be back.

Welcoming atmosphere, waiters lovely, the starts... terrific. However, my Partner had the Salmon main which arrived and soon discovered it was Raw. Unfortunately we had to ask ask the waiter a few times before they took it off the bill. You would think they would offer it as a comp straight away.

Went for a lunch and had some tapas. Excellent food, perfectly cooked. Six or so dishes between two was just right. The salt and pepper squid and golden parcells were amazing and the spring rolls the best I have had for a while. The service was good and fairly quick. The waiting staff were really good with checking for allergies and advising/helping to manage them. The Kwai beer was good too. Would definitely go again!

My favourite location in south West. Have been here many times. The staff are lovely and the food is lush. Prices are so decent for what you are getting! Absolutely love the giggling squid always come down with my sisters.

Food Taste: 5/5. Food Presentation: 5/5. Service: 5/5. Ambience: 5/5. Love this place, goes right onto my list of favourite restaurants, reasonably priced as well.

If I could give six stars I would.Friendly efficient service. My glass of Tap water topped up throughout the meal without being asked. The jincana spicy salad was superb. Lovely sweet tamarind flavours. Very very fresh. Nice mint and coriander taste. The beef and cashew nuts was superb. Masses of fresh vegetables. Crunchy . Beef was tender. Nice slightly sweet sauce. I tried the coconut dessert. At first bland it had soft smooth coconut blancmange pieces of crunchy coconut for contrast , sweet coconut milk but the highlight was adding a tiny amount of the fruit colis. The explosion in the mouth was fantastic. Please please do not go or else I may not get a table next time.

I don't normally write review on Google. But this is stunning Thai food. I know it is not genuine Thai food because it is on high street for most British. However it is still the best dinner we have had in recent 3 years. Mid range price and good size dish. As a Asian, personally I would ask for less sugar as I don't like sweet dish but SPICY hot is my favorite. Kid rated sharing platter 10 out of 10. My Royal curry with extra spicy is rich and creamy best with jasmine rice. Melting Beef is so tender and natural flavored. Unfortunately there is not a single branch in north. I really hope we can see Giggling Squid in Manchester.

The team seemed to work great together and there was a great atmosphere. I think this is also what made our visit so pleasant: you could see how everyone went along and worked well as a team. Everyone was very friendly, service was quick and the food was great. The only critique I would point out is that we were not told that the curries came without rice so I had to order one last minute when I noticed it. The price of the curries is also quite high considering rice is not included. Apart from that, everything was amazing.

I tried the Giggling Squid on my last night in Salisbury. As a solo traveler I sat at a small table in the front by the street window. The atmosphere was lively but not too noisy. Just people enjoying a good meal together. My server was very friendly and attentive. I started with the Salt & Pepper Squid (I was in a Giggling one so had to try it). Very nice. Cooked perfect and the sauce was a nice compliment. For my main I had the Crying Beef. Nice sizzling steak on a hotplate with just enough extras on it to make it look amazing. It tasted great too. It had one chili mark by its name on the menu but the only heat I found was the few chili in the sauce - so tasty but not hot. I had the sticky rice with it... not sure if that was the best choice but it worked for me.Not a cheap meal but a nice and tasty one. Will go back to one again if ever near one.The only negative for this Salisbury restaurant was the unfortunate location... Right outside is a street corner area with park-like benches and some drunks/homeless have made it sort of their place. I walked this area every day after work for the week I was there and there was always someone there. They didn't bother me and I did not bother them but I did see the police stop and have a long conversation with one guy while eating my meal. Not sure what about. Don't let this stop you from going and trying this restaurant. Just pointing it out that might be there there.

Absolutely wonderful! Delicious flavours from every dish we ordered. Probably the best Thai meal we’ve ever had, and we frequently visit Thailand! The biggest problem we had was ordering.. their menu offers SO many tempting choices!! This was our first time there but we’ll defiantly be back to sample each dish! Five star!
