Hare and Hounds in Wiltshire

It's changed loads since I was last in the food is nice but the order come out wrong and they forgot the onion rings but the young girl did her best to sort it out, it seems to be a younger person's pub where they all gather in the marquee outside

Went to eat on the weekend at lunch - we were the only people eating which should have been a red flag - the restaurant area was absolutely freezing, we waited 45 minutes for the food to arrive despite us being the only people eating and the food was not goodMy other halves fish and chips came served on a piece of paper on the plate which made it awkward for him to eat the peas (meant to be minted crushed peas) and the actual fish itself was very watery inside the batter, frozen no doubtMy seabass smelt and tasted like old socks and the spinach was missing from the plate?The onion rings were so greasy, oil pooled into our mouths when we bit into them.The waiter was lovely though hence the one star

We held a wake at the Hare and Hounds. We were made very welcome, the food provided was delicious (everyone loved the sausage rolls). We were well taken care of and nothing was too much trouble. Utterly recommend this pub.

Food, atmosphere and friendly service all excellent. Much nicer than when I came here 3 ish years ago.

No baby changing facilities! Had I known prior would not have gone. After checking the ladies and looking for the disable toilet, a member of staff said afraid we don't have changing facilities. If you have a change mat there is enough space in the ladies (on the floor!) I said no I would rather change him in the car. I was then offered to change on the cushion booth in the 'restaurant area' but I thought this would be unhygienic and embarrassing if other customers were to arrive (sight of poo and the smell due to a leaked baby) so I changed in the boot while it pee'd down and will not be returning now I am aware of the lack of basic facilities.Two star as the mains had been nice, but was ruined by the above and therefore having to leave early when we would have stayed for desserts.

Good food.. Welcome fresh feeling... Great service... What more do you need...

Great night out on Christmas Eve, just make sure if anyone is coming in before 11 is given an wristband, i was not given one (I arrived around half 10) and about half 11, somebody said that I couldn’t served unless I had a wristband (which I didn’t) and it made me upset. Please make sure you offer anyone that arrives on a busy night a wristband, i still had a good night but when the lady told me that I had to a wristband, it upset me, it was still good service but just make sure it is consistent with wristbands that would be appreciated. Thank uN.B. I don’t want to be too harsh on the bar staff hence why it is 4 stars as the service was very good before it 😊

Never my years have I paid £1.80 for a pint of squash. 😠 Small plate fish and chips was more like a child's portion . Tablespoon of peas had fillet of fish 2inches wide by 5 inches long very greasy . 4 new potatoes cut in half . Very very disappointed 😞

A classic country pub -- a bit worn but the log fires keep it warm and the customers and staff all seem friendly.I just stopped for a coffee which was on the expensive side, so can't comment on the food.I'm giving it five stars because it's important to support country pubs, many of which are closing these days. These places are important for the local community as well as people, like me, who are passing through and don't want to prop up the non-tax paying multinationals who dominate our motorway networks.
