Horse and Groom in Wiltshire

Welcomed like family, really lovely bar and staff. Tried the food. Wow. Interesting menu with local produce available. Gin selection was impressive too. Clean and well decorated room. Will stay again.

Absolutely fabulous lunch here today with my wife. The aranchini crab balls were to die for and the fish and chips were absolutely stunning. Great curry sauce and tartare sauce to go with the fish. The staff were very tentative and everything was done with courtesy and a smile. First visit and certainly will not be last 5 star absolutely lovely place. Very clean and well worth a visit you will not be disappointed. A hidden gem on our doorstep that we have unearthed and discovered. Many thanks 😊

We had such a lovely dinner at The Horse and Groom in Charlton last night with some friends. Every one of our dishes were delicious (which is hard to find), the staff were friendly and attentive and the restaurant had a beautiful cotswolds look and was very clean. Absolutely recommend. You can tell that Management is doing such a great job with the place!

Delicious Sunday roast. The Horse & Groom shut for an extended period over lockdown but the new ownership has raised the bar considerably. Service is friendly and welcoming and the ambience is lovely - a nice pub for all seasons.

We stayed for one night and booked for dinner.Nice cosy bar with good friendly service. The restaurant layout and design was excellent. Many good options on the menu.Both courses were beautifully presented and very tasty. Our waitress, Freya was very friendly, confident and attentive.Breakfast was delightful; again, very good interesting options. All the food was above our expectations; thank you Chef.Very nice spacious room with roll top bath.We recommend fitting a long dressing mirror.

Stopped here for a drink and a bite to eat on a cycle ride. Got to sit in the window to be near our bike :) We had an allotment sandwich with a side of chips, pot of tea and an orange juice / lemonade drink. All was fantastic. The tea came with a cute shortbread round which was pudding. Menu looked very adventurous, surroundings lovely, great napkins, faultless service. I'd love to visit again!

Fabulous stay at The Horse and Groom, beautifully decorated, comfortable room. Bathroom was very luxurious with a free standing bath and nice toiletries. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. Manager and staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Would highly recommend a stay at the Horse and Groom.

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay on the way back from Cornwall. The room was very well appointed and had a lot of details / extras that showed that someone had put a lot of thought into the guest experience.The food in the restaurant was of the highest quality and was served by efficient and friendly staff.Breakfast was super and again very well served.Would highly recommend The Horse and Groom and many thanks to Dave and his team.

Fabulous place to stay and eat. We had the delicious Sunday roast lunches (pork and turkey). All the members staff were charming and attentive. They also organised an amazing birthday cake for my partner.The room was clean and the bed was very comfy and we both slept very well. We enjoyed all the little touches and the generously-sized shower room.We would definitely return to the Horse and Groom and would consider staying in other places in the Butcombe Inn group.

Very pleasant comfortable stay with evening meal and breakfast. Good quality cooking with well sourced ingredients. Breakfast was only one "course" after the juice/coffee was brought. But then we didn't ask for more since we were very well fed the night before.
