Excellent location, excellent service. Great for a quiet weekend away

It was all that l hoped for,calm ,peaceful quiet. An added bonus was the frenchest style.

A little gem tucked away in beautiful countryside. Very friendly and professional staff. Rooms a little bit tired compared to some other boutique hotels, hence the 4 stars. The real reason to stay is the fantastic food and the creative menu. Highly recommend and on this measure 5 stars!

A splendid place to hold a birthday lunch party. The food is excellent and the service is first class. The coach house makes a perfect venue for entertaining up to a dozen or so guests.

Howards house hosted our wedding reception in November of 2020 and truly went above and beyond what we expected. With Covid restrictions changing we were forced to make a last minute change of date for both our wedding ceremony and reception. Despite being given 24 hours noticed Howards house pulled out all the stops to give us an incredible experience and a wedding day we will always treasure. The staff could not be faulted, being both professional and accommodating at every stage of the evening. The food and drink was exceptional and we where pleasantly surprised that we were still severed almost all the food options we had selected despite the last minute change of date. We had several rooms at the hotel for ourselves and members of the wedding party all of which where spacious and comfortable. The gardens and countryside around the hotel are really something special and well worth exploring. I couldn't recommend Howards house highly enough, wether is be for a meal and weekend away or a larger function. Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable.

We stayed here for 3 nights last week. I think Howards House should be described as a restaurant with rooms, NOT an hotel. The food is first class, as are the wines.Our bedroom was so dated, in real need of updating. The lighting was dreadful, we could hardly read in the room. I had no bedside table or light, nowhere for my tea or water. The bathroom was so old fashioned it was laughable. A shower over an old bath, which took ages to adjust the temperature. Lots of piping hot water though! There are no public rooms for residents, no bar and no lounge. There is one room but it seems to be kept for non residents Teas. I can visualize the place in the summer, with no covid restrictions, but at the moment it is not really working as an hotel. This could be so much better, but please get the place refurbished and painted.

Lovely setting (nice outdoor space), impeccable service (attentive but relaxed enough to not make you feel uncomfortable), amazing food with produce from their gardens. Even managed to cater for my dairy allergies without notice. Had scallops for starters, lobster for mains, and then raspberry souffle with lychee and rose sorbet. Would love to go back.
