Lambtons Restaurant at The Bear in Wiltshire

I really like this hotel having had tea and cake here a lot in the courtyard garden in the afternoons. I like the old building with the open fire in the bar downstairs and the historic feel. Booked a room and it was great. We asked for extra duvets which they sorted out easily. Staff are all very friendly, polite and very accommodating. Breakfast was really good, exactly what you want in a hotel. Fruit, pastries, toast, cereal and amazing cooked food. Smoked haddock was perfect. The decor is a bit worn and shabby in places but I like this as I find it more relaxing as it's not pretentious in the slightest. Would definitely recommend this place and as its not massively expensive for a hotel and I have enjoyed staying here.

The staff were attentive without being overly so. They advised us on portion sizes so we wouldn't have too much or not enough. They were brilliant with our 4 legged friend and very helpful with my friends elderly mother.The food was lovely. Four of us had the Pork belly with veg and cauliflower cheese. The fifth a lovely piece of fish and chips.Pudding of caramelised lemon tart with raspberry sorbet was divine.We will definitely be back and would recommend The Bear to anyone who wants a meal in Devizes.

Great place to stay, lovely staff every single one of them friendly do anything for you, good breakfast big rooms big shower head plenty of hot water big bath and deep very clean only thing our room was a bit scruffy headboard ripped stain on ceiling needing upgraded but would still go back

They produced a cream tea on a Sunday which was good. Good sized pot of tea at a strength I like. The scones were dry which was emphasised by the ungenerous amount of cream, they were also on the expensive side for what they provided.

Had a good wedding there. Lovely room for the night and family breakfast the following day.

Good sized rooms. Immaculate too. Great food and good choice of beer. I found all the staff very friendly. I'll definitely be staying there again.

We booked here on the Internet, for Sunday Lunch and wasn't disapointed.The place felt welcoming, serving staff, were attentive, polite and helpful. the food was good quality it made for a relaxing afternoon.Manager/Owner was very nice when paying the bill, exchanging business cards. Will be going back again.

Located right in the middle of Devizes, this place is lovely and really good value. Its very old and full of character will olde world charm. The breakfast is great and plentiful. There's a large, free car park if you're staying overnight.

Amazing building but needs some investment. Staff really nice & helpful. Decor dated but clean. Food & menu (especially for veggies) disappointing but new chef will hopefully get to grips with this. Busy lunchtimes. Beer excellent.
