Pleasant central curry house. Good pappadoms though I found my vegetable biriyani a bit bland, though tasted pretty healthy! My wife’s lamb special was good but a little chewy.

Nice enough and good quality. Fresh poppadums always a good sign. One of the waiters seemed miserable, could do with putting on a smile, others were fine and made you feel welcome.Good prices. Overall not bad if unremarkable.

Food was very good but waited 1.5 hours for our main meal

We were visiting Marlborough and decided to go to the Raj for their Tuesday night special. We have eaten curries all around the World, and their food must rank as one of the very best we have had. Butter Chicken was especially good, as was the Chicken Tikka , Kebab and vegetable side dishes. Excellent service, and pleasant staff. Highly recommended and a true 5 star experience.

Bad first:1) No gloves given for serving food so everyone touches the handles. No masks worn by anyone in there. (minus half a star)2) Asked what drinks were wanted before being even given a drinks menu about 10 seconds after sitting down, so I asked for a menu and time to choose. (minus half a star)3) Coca Cola completely FLAT. (minus half a star)4) jalfrezi full of onions and no chicken, previous customers obviously took the Lions share and the meat and left the dregs for us. Wasn't re-filled on the buffet in the time we were there. (minus half a star)5) Chocolate left with the bill was nasty. Smelt terrible and was well out of date as it had decayed. Did not attempt to eat it. (minus half a star)6) When leaving, saw a family of 4 turned away so went in to ask what the problem was and was told they are closed. It was 2:12 approximately, and so I said that the outside sign says 12 to 3pm. They said it was closed at 2 nowadays following Covid. I said to them that I suggest they change the sign. False Advertising! We travelled 14 miles and if we came later it could have been us turned away. Not Fair to those people, they were clearly upset. (minus another half star)Good points:1) Nice decor and atmosphere inside. (+ half a star gained)2) Not the best ever tasted, but reasonable food quality. (+ half a star gained)Total.Starting with 5 Stars....3 lost1 gained.Equals 3 LEFT.FAIR I THINK !!!!

Went with my brother on Tuesday evening for their special deal night. Excellent food and friendly service from Mr Khan. When it says hot on the menu, it's hot. Great night and looking forward to visiting again.
