We visited this pub in a family group of 4 on a Sunday. The food options for a Sunday were very good and beyond just a Sunday Roast lunch. However, there was a good carvery, with vegetarian and vegan options. I've been visiting this pub for over 20yrs, primarily due to the scope of dishes and also the speed of service, but moved away about 6 years ago. I was the only one having a carvery and to be honest, it wasn't anywhere as good as I remember. Although at £12 it was a good price. The vegetable dishes in particular were very bland. The other three members of our party chose non carvery dishes and all were great. One thing to note, is that our booking was at 12 mid-day and we were only allowed the table for 1.5 hrs.

Great menu, food as good as ever, prompt and pleasant service.

Very popular Arkell's Brewery pub. Large car park and some outdoor seating. Has had some extension work done since I have last been there, everything clean tidy and fresh inside. Menu tends to be the normal pub foods with a Sunday Carvery. Beer was well kept and tasted good. Had a chicken curry with half rice and half chips accompaniment.Chips of a poor quality and rice completely bland and the chicken curry unfortunately could not compete with a good quality curry. My wife had Scampi, chips, peas, and side salad. The Scampi was very good , mixed salad good but tomatoes rather lacking. Her chips too being poor. But did not try desserts or starters so cannot comment on any other item except the meals we had. There were plenty of customers enjoying their meals by the look of it. And the staff were very good, so a thumbs up to them.

Just thank you, what a brilliant place! Had a family meal there yesterday it was seamless. The staff were efficient, the food was superb, we all loved it. So rare to visit a busy establishment and find it so good. Will definitely visit again. Excellent all round.

My partner & I needed to stop for a traditional Sunday roast on our journey home and we were not disappointed. They were very busy but jiggled things around to fit us in. The food and service was lovely and staff very friendly.

This place is amazing. I went past it and laughed at the name (mature I know) then looked it up later on to find out what it was like.I saw that it did a carvery and assumed it would be expensive.Looked at the menu, it was only £10.Thought ok… there must be a catch. I bet there’s no tables if I try to book. There were loads.Still critical and a bit smug, I checked the trusty Google Maps reviews aaaaand they were great. No catch. So I booked! The food was great, especially the roast potatoes! My dad was happy when he realised they had cauliflower cheese and it was nice to be served rather than the standard Toby Carvery where you end up getting burned when you touch the hot spoon handles! You even get little pigs in blankets as standard! They do this really cool range of sundaes and you can even build your own which we did and it was lovely! It’s so much better value and no sticky tables so will definitely be coming back, honestly was great 😍
