Real ale and hearty food in a traditional 18th-century pub with a skittle alley, garden and 2 rooms.

Unfortunately we visited when the building works were going on so it was a bit noisy. However we enjoyed the experience, food was okay, serving lady very pleasant. My fellow companions had never visited this pub before dispite being local. I believe they have returned on several occasions.

Called for Saturday lunch. Very disappointing. Game pie had to be sent back as cold. So was a separate portion of chips. Broccoli rock hard and sweet potatoes tough! There excuse was they were short staffed! Beer not so good either?...

No walk in food service, not even a cheese roll! and the message not very well handled by the staff. Not good for repeat business. Beer was good.

Stopped here for the first time for some lunch on my birthday as we were in the area. We hadn’t booked but managed to get a table and the staff were really lovely and welcoming! My husband ordered a beetroot and goats cheese sandwich and loved it. I ordered tomato and mozzarella arancini however I wasn’t too keen, not much flavour but I can be fussy as it was cooked well. Chips however were superb! :) we tried a very nice local beer called Forum as well. Nice vintage inn vibe and atmosphere would definitely return.

Went for Sunday lunch, staff were friendly and the pub is lovely. Roast beef was barely warm and the portion size was severely lacking. Veg was fresh but the potatoes did not appear to have been roasted. Very pricey for what was received.

A lovely traditional pub. Food and service was outstanding. Differcult to decide what to eat. Will be going back to do a couple of walk's and stop by for lunch or dinner. Definitely has got a restaurant standard chef. Loved it

Lovely village pub. First class landlady/staff. Food was very good too. 10/10 🙂

Lovely little pub, been here many times and it never disappoints! The staff are always friendly and chatty and the food is superb. Only issue is the badger beer, disgusting stuff. Apart from that this pub is definitely worth a visit!

Our first visit to the Silver Plough and we were impressed. Beautiful building, especially if you appreciate character pubs. Decor is thoughtful and true to the setting. Lots of place to sit, comfortable and welcoming. We had lunch, a sandwich and coffee and it was very tasty. Dinner menu looked very good, we will certainly be back.
