Food acceptable but nothing special and a little over priced for the portions and quality. Staff need to be a little more aware of customer service, like is everything ok, did you enjoy your meal. Lovely location for a holiday though.

The Antelope Inn, Upavon, Wiltshire. 🇬🇧“Natasha offers you a warm welcome” is advertised on the website…. Ok 👌🏼 £75 for the night, fairly priced 👍🏻Arrived around 13:30/14:00 yesterday, parked out the front in a space but immediately got told to move by a staff member. Parked round the back of the building, walked into the pub, was greeted by a very straight to the point bloke - waited approx 10 mins for our key, being gawked at by locals 😬 the bloke collected us “follow me” and we went in our room, no further words. Got the kids (2 young border collies) ready and found a stunning nature reserve approx 10 min drive from our b&b. Got back around 16:00! Starving from only having a bagel at 08:00 that morning, we asked 2 ladies whether the pub had food, looking awkwardly one of them said “resumes at 18:00” ok cool 👍🏻 nothing on the website, no note in the room, 3 staff never mentioned anything to us … They followed us and our girl wagging her tail jumped up at the picket fence, I’ve never seen a woman wince so much in her life. My fiancé said ”sorry, are you scared of dogs” they both confirmed they didn’t like dogs 🤔Fiancé nipped to the shop, being a village, not a great selection so crisps and chocolate is what we ate 😟 Dinner time, I went to the bar, again being completely ignored yet gawked at by locals… the woman asked what I wanted… ok, so “can I order some dinner and collect it to eat in our room please” 15 mins later a ‘fresh pizza’ and ‘homemade lasagne’ was ready but Natasha (aka Mrs warm welcome) banged on our door, of course it startled us all & the pups barked. We was told 30 mins 🤦🏼‍♀️ the look she gave me made me feel like she was going to throw us out.The food was disgusting! Burnt! Re-heated! £31 down 😠The pups were exhausted but we took them for short intermittent walks to ensure no incidents. We’re not animals pups didn’t move a muscle all night, slept like logs fiancé and I didn’t sleep well, the room was damp. We couldn’t wait to check out.As breakfast was part of the deal, during our dinner convo, we asked what time breakfast was “9am” OK to me that suggests self serve… fiancé went at 9am, “no you can’t eat in your room” but you can’t leave dogs either 🤔 squeezed through the tiny dining room as breakfast was going cold on a table in the back - that was ours 👍🏻Disgusting breakfast is an understatement but the eyes rolling and tutting from Mrs Warm Welcome was doing my swede in at this point. We quickly grabbed our belongings, tidied the room and left. The only time Natasha was nice was when she took payment for the room, the rest of the time we felt like total idiots having our dogs there.Moving forward, because pups were really good to be fair, we’ll be asking accommodation owners / managers “describe what you mean as dog friendly” not one person at this dog friendly b&b acknowledged our very social, happy pups. One screwed her face up at me, the owner tutted at me, the owner rolled her eyes a few times, two of the women told me they didn’t like dogs … HOW is that dog friendly?I’m over £200 lighter in my pocket, knackered, feeling unsettled about how these people viewed us… not really a holiday is it?Anyway, we’ll go on many more mini breaks but now know to ask the question. Is your accommodation really dog friendly or do you just need guests to help your clearly failing business because hand on heart, the room / damp / food would’ve been totally overlooked if the people at The Antelope Inn would’ve been welcoming, a smile would’ve helped at least 🤦🏼‍♀️

Absolute shambles. Pub closed when we arrived, waited 2 hours to be let into a cold room ,no heating or hot water on. Went to the bar had a drink and was asked if we wanted to add to our evening meal tab. After an hour or so asked refood to be told that the chef had walked out and the lady would try and cook but there was no chef for breakfast! We had booked with two dogs so now to late to find another hotel. We had no choice but to drive 2 hours home. Very very unhappy to say the least!!! The lady who had been left to try and help was lovely. No manager or owner in sight. Don't waste your time at the Antelope. A rare trip away ruined.

A lovely village Pub and Hotel with a warm atmosphere and good pub food. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and there are a good selection of drinks. Very reasonable price.

AVOID if you have allergies! We did not stay here but met a friend for dinner and the landlord was so unhelpful! We asked what was gluten free on the menu as my daughter is a coeliac and he laughed in our faces and then went on to tell us we would be lucky if anywhere could guarantee gluten free!! We then went through the menu and were advised he could offer steak and chips but upon questioning how the chips were cooked it turns out the fryer is used to cook food containing gluten! The menu and website states everything is made fresh and could be adapted to cater for allergies!I would not trust anything from that kitchen to be safe for anyone with allergies or intolerances!

Probably a bad day for them but the service was poor. No communication as to what time breakfast finished it was start times only, so be aware it's only open for an hour for overnight guests. We had also come from a wedding late and we essentially were locked out in the middle of the night, however, they'd actually left a back fire exit open for us but again, no communication to let you know.On a positive note, the bathroom is quite nice.In summary , I think these few small mistakes made it a very unpleasant stay for us but overall, I don't think it's a terrible place. Frosty customer service and poor information and average room experience explains the rating. But I think it being a three star hotel is pretty fair, albeit on the lower end of it. I wouldn't recommend to a friend on the basis of value for money and the fact you could find yourself locked out in the night.

Having heard some positive things from locals expectations were high. Beers we're OK, but the one pale ale ran out after one pint. Food was pretty decent, a little pricey perhaps and uncomplicated. Well cooked and prepared though, enjoyed by all. Rooms were OK, bathrooms were refurbed and the bath was big. Great for a post walk soak. Finally there was the service. This was the worst point by far. It's as if your mere presence was an inconvenience. No 'how is your meal?', we were left hanging more than once. A shame, I'm sure they could do a lot better. Overall adequate, but meh.

I stayed here with my partner for a one night escape from london. We were so impressed, the bed was huge and comfortable, the bath was huge and a great relaxation, everything was clean, breakfast was lovely, the bar had a great selection of drinks to offer, free parking off the street, the quietest village I have ever seen and so beautiful, definitely recommend staying here

Arrived last minute and Natasha provided an ensuite room, as she'd had a 24 hour postponed booking, lovely beer and a bite to eat, full English next morning. All the staff amd locals really friendly. This is a good one!

Lovely pub/restaurant/hotel. Was lucky enough to find this and stay a night. Despite being a v old building the room was like a modern hotel room as was the bathroom. Perfect sleep too. Wouldn't hesitate to book again if in the area. Pizza, made on site was perfecto...as was the breakfast. Friendly cost bar. A great find.
